Could VIM /Burgas be Balkan with there TU-154s ? I remember they did operate into Bristol back then

I looked at Balkan but their ICAO code is LAZ. Or was before they ceased to operate. Of course, it might have been a different one 20 years ago.

I believe VIM was the code for VIA airlines of Bulgaria, they used to operate TU-154's.

TUI are operating Friday's TFS today it departed at 07.00, they are also operating Saturday's Las Palmas flight which will depart at 14.10, today's Malaga flight is delayed until 22.45 instead of a 07.10 departure and today's 14.55 Lanzarote will depart at 17.35. Info is all from SWAG.

New winter flights and holidays to Egypt from Cardiff Airport
TUI (formerly Thomson) the UK’s largest holiday brand, has announced a new service to Hurghada, Egypt for the coming winter season, connecting Welsh customers to resorts on the Red Sea coast.

Holidaymakers now have even more choice when it comes to winter sun with flights to the Egyptian resort town departing Cardiff every Monday. Flights take off on 5th November 2018 and customers can enjoy staying at the best hotels TUI has to offer in one of Egypt’s most popular destinations such as the 5T TUI Magic Life Kalawy, Hurgahda.

Hurghada boasts year-round sunshine making it the ideal destination for a winter break. The Red Sea resort has everything you need to escape the cold with beautiful beaches and warm weather making it perfect for popular activities such as snorkelling and diving.

There are a number of day trip packages available from Hurghada so keen explorers can visit various attractions. The Sahara desert frames the city, offering opportunities for quad biking and camel riding experiences while Egypt’s biggest water park is on the town’s doorstep, offering fun for the whole family.

Had a quick check of TUI's flight section and TFS is still down to operated on Monday's so it may well be possible TUI are bringing in the aircraft for either Hurghada or Tenerife from another airport.

Looking ahead to Summer 2019 which is due to be announced on the 5th April does anyone think TUI will look at more Turkish routes ie Bodrum or copy Thomas Cook and launch Tunisia?

It's a bit like Monty Python's No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition when it comes to 'forecasting' what airlines might do. If TUI does look at more Turkish routes would it be at the expense of existing routes or frequencies or will they use third party carriers? That was very common a few years ago with Turkey.

My stock answer to this sort of thing is, "Nothing surprises me".

Well it could be possible they could use another carrier like Freebird or have them takeover all their Dalaman flights and operate Bodrum with a based aircraft. One thing I didn't consider is Hurghada in whether they'll continue that into the summer as well.

So far I can see CWL and DSA are getting a third based aircraft each. They were next in line for this as they were the biggest two-based aircraft bases (along with LTN and STN).
NCL and EMA are also three-aircraft bases.

Huge capacity boost, and with it the offer of 10 night holidays to many popular destinations. No coveted TUI long haul (yet) but this is a huge step in the right direction and it has been coming for some time now if you look at the annual additions to the network.

Very positive news. TUI are certainly being the tour operator force in the southwest and Wales maybe protecting their ground. Although over the 6 month summer period the aircraft will likely supply just under 140k seats (based on 2 out and 2 return flights per day) it will likely mean the late night flights (i believe 2 or maybe 3 now?) will be moved to better times and we wont see eurowings and norwegian. As a rough calculation based on there being 10 flights per week (new) thats just under an extra 100k seats.
