For Summer 2019, the TUI schedule now shows two weekly flights to MXP on Wednesdays and Saturdays using flybe. They will be selling seats on flybes flights on this route from the end of May 2019 till end of Sept 2019.
The rest of the TUI schedule at CWL remains unchanged with 3x based aircraft for Summer 2019 operating 45 departures per week in peak Summer.

Excuse my ignorance - what’s the difference between a bag drop desk and this new bag drop facility ? is the latter just self service ?

Wish they would offer day before check in like they do at some airports.

I’m assuming the bag drop will allow those who have checked in online to quickly drop bags instead of waiting in the same queue as those who need to check in at the airport.

if you have flown with TOM u will see the majority of customers have checked in on line and the big queues for their ‘fast’ bag drop and conventional check-in are one and the same.

Everybody on a package holiday will tend to have cases to check in...

Hence my question what is the difference ??

I haven’t flown TUI so can’t say im familiar. if the check in lines are one the same i’m assuming this splits out the need for online check ins to use the same check in as ones who haven’t checked in online?

I'm not 100% sure but i also believe that people can drop off there luggage in advance as well.

I have flown with TUI a number of times in the last 12'months and check-in online but still join a large seemingly homogenous queue.

TUI only offer day before check-in at bigger Airports. Online check-in is more to secure your seats. It does slightly speed up the check-in process but not by much. Having self bag drop will mean probably 4+ kiosks available, along with 1 maybe still 2 desks per flight for anyone that isn't able to use the bag drop kiosks. So an big increase in desk availability whether it be person or computer. It will certainly be a benefit when the 3rd aircraft comes next summer.

Looks like one of the based TUI aircraft has gone or went tech as the 13.30 Alicante hasn't departed yet but it looks like a Wamos Air A330 200 EC-MJS may be operating that flight as one is on approach from Gothenburg now.

Apparently the Wamos A330 will be operating the return ALC this afternoon and departs at 14.15 local time.

TUI have had a bad couple of days.Have they got their own aircrafts sorted. The Wamos aircraft operating back to ALC is not to make any problems with the TUI schedules today.

Both based aircraft are operating their usual schedule today.

Looks like TUI have a BHX based 757 operating tonight's Tenerife flight.

Is there anyway to find out for definite what type of aircraft the 3rd based TUI will be next year? On their website it's not possible to get a seat plan up and google flights don't have any info on it.

737.
Cardiff won't be seeing any 757s in the near future as they are slowly being phased out and would complicate crew training to start up a mixed base again.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
