I've seen it stated elsewhere that TUI will be using Avion Express for the 3rd based aircraft.

My flight to Crete is going to operated by Avion, I received an email yesterday advising.

Is this good, bad or indifferent?

With an increase in flights, does anyone know if any other routes have been cut back? Or could that mean an extra based aircraft - even if it’s 1 or 2 days a week.

Come to think of it, with 7 departures on a Monday and Thursday they will probably fly and aircraft on a W rotation. It doesn’t merit a 4th aircraft, but hopefully goes that way over the next two years.

It's still 3 based 2 TUI and 1 non TUI. If I remember correctly Sharm el Shiekh was dropped and Ibiza reduced.

It wld be amazing if TUI/Crystal cld offer a ski flight. Maybe somewhere like Grenoble or Toulouse for Andorra.

I accept its a long shot but there is always hope whilst hope remains.

They offer Chambery or used to from Exeter but haven't offered it from Cardiff for a while, they used to use Flybe. I think with Cardiff in the winter they concentrate on winter sun and cruise ship holidays.

Notes
- In 2023, on Mondays, a CWL based aircraft operated a W-pattern to EXT from CFU (CWL-CFU-EXT-CFU-CWL).
In 2024, on Mondays, the CWL based aircraft will operate out and back to CFU in the morning allowing to the aircraft to operate an extra frequency to NBE in the afternoon.

- In 2023, the Monday BOJ flight was operated by a CWL based aircraft but in 2024, is now operated by a BRS based aircraft on a W-pattern to CWL (BRS-BOJ-CWL-BOJ-BRS).

- In 2023, the Friday CFU flight was operated by a CWL based aircraft but in 2024, is now operated by a BRS based aircraft on a W-pattern to CWL (BRS-CFU-CWL-CFU-BRS).

- In 2024, the late Friday evening flight to IBZ has been removed from the schedule.

Travel Trade Gazette, has announced that TUI has signed an agreement with Ryanair, to use their FR FLIGHTS TO SELL 1 MILLION package holidays from UK airports. TUI is now the third package holiday company to ,have signed a deal with FR after Love holidays and Kiwi, the packages will be sold at the same price for the flight. as is shown on FR website. This will be a benefit to CWL passengers who want an inclusive holiday. and hopefully will bring an increase of FR flights from CWL.

Fingers crossed it'll help them expand at CWL and we'll see TUI reinstate offering Portugal on their holiday website maybe even city breaks to Dublin as well.

BBC Radio Wales phone in programme 12 noon today, one of the subjects was about CWL still making a loss. The travel expert was Simon Calder, who last flew from CWL 10 years ago, all he suggested was that CWL be renamed after Tom Jones or Shirley Bassey. The only person who spoke any sense, was the manager of Sam Smith Travel in Cowbridge, who pointed out the advantages of travelling from CWL. There were other callers who complained that prices were dearer than BRS, and lack of destinations. it is amazing, that the BBC having run stories on CWL for the past couple of days, have not had any of the airport management team to take part in these programmes.
Further to my post on TUI and FR, the best advantage for CWL passengers would be on the Faro route, where TUI no longer flies to from CWL. Apparently the object of TUI making this deal with FR, is to gain more holiday makers, which they have lost to Jet2,, which is now the largest leasure company in the UK.

You beat me to it regarding Faro Jerry, sorry for repeating you.

They've always been willing to before and i don't why they keep going to Simon Calder, it's like they don't have anyone else!

Simon Calder works for the BBC in house newspaper otherwise known as the Gaurdian therefore everything he says must be taken as gospel.

I was doing a search for flights to AYT for June earlier. After looking at LGW, BHX and BRS the cheapest I could find was (for 2 pax) £650. I tried the TUI website to see how much from CWL and it was £525 for 2 pax. Even on their website CWL was the cheapest option for the dates I was looking at. All too often I see on FB people moaning about the price of flights from CWL saying that landing fees are too expensive. But I found it cheaper in this case that our local airport is a lot cheaper...and with TUI too as flight only. It shows that if you really look (although I didn't need to look hard) and have dates that fall outside the usual 7 or 14 night stays, those cheaper flights from CWL are out there.

I’ve got a week away in Lanzarote booked for July from Cardiff. It was cheaper than the equivalent east jet holiday and jet2 from Bristol. “Free” child space as well.
The airport is a 10 minute drive (or 1 hour walk if you must) from me so it’s a no brainer to try from CWL when you factor in parking and potential airport hotel.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
