Perhaps that is the announcement posted on this site a while ago.
Could be. They could be messing with the schedule though. Fingers crossed it's a 4th based aircraft. Even one for 3 months would be fantastic.

Looking at the Thursday schedule it’s not possible to serve the timetable with 3 aircraft. I strongly suspect a 4th based aircraft. Whether that means there will be more routes/ increase in frequency - I don’t know. They may use a 4th to service a handful of routes then have it doing W patterns for the other days.

I’ve just read that TUI are adding a 4th weekly flight for next summer (Sunday). I believe this is a continuation from the 4p/w winter service.

It also suggests a 4th based aircraft next summer given there are already 3 afternoon flights on a Sunday.

Edit: forgot to originally mention it’s to Tenerife

Do you mean for Tenerife? As that's the only 4 weekly winter flight.

Good news for CWL passengers form both TUI and Ryanair, next winter in particular should make a big improvement to CWL figures, and there is Vueling to come.

Apparently there's increases on Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Enfidha, Antalya and Mallorca. Each get an extra weekly frequency.

Some info surrounding that here:

https://www.travelgossip.co.uk/latestnews/tui-expands-cardiff-programme-for-summer-26

Gran Canaria - 2x weekly already on sale
Tenerife - 4x weekly, with the 4th flight recently put on sale.
Enfidha - 2x weekly already on sale
Antalya - 4x weekly but only 3x weekly currently on sale.
Palma - states an additional flight up to 6x weekly, but rises to 7x weekly during peak summer with the Tues evening PMI flight.

Based on that there's FAO, HRG and another AYT to be added to the schedule.
The current schedules has these gaps:
Tues - All day (2 flights)
Wed - PM Gap (1 flight)
Thu - Current schedule is for 5 aircraft so expect some time/day changes
Fri - All day (2 flights)
Sat - All day (2 flights)
Sun - AM gap (1 flight)

So there's still gaps for 6 flights to fill the 4 aircraft schedules each day.

So potentially still more to come though i would potentially expect on some days one of the aircraft might end up doing a W pattern flight for another airport.

This really is great news and shows that TUI are capitalising upon the currently uncompeted state of affairs at CWL.

With a 4 aircraft Summer 2026 base, I think it’s only a matter of time before Jet2 or someone else comes sniffing around for a slice of the pie (The market is clearly there and TUI clearly have faith in it to make this investment).

There aren’t any other airports that I can think of which have a 4 aircraft TUI base without any other competition …

Some might say it's because of Jet2 squeezing them at Bristol that they've expanded at Cardiff.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
