Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
Arrived back on EZY 7196 from Faro late last night, landed slightly early 2330, flight would be about a quarter full, everyone wearing masks, plenty of room in cabin. Border control hall had the zig zag queue more spaced out than July when I last passed through which I thought was better than before. Staff did not ask to see passenger locator , which they did do in July. Quickly through, was indoors in 30.mins from disembarkation.

It would,d seem there will be a government announcement early Nov to provide an alternative to 14 days quarantine. Its about time, and desperate if we are not to see collapses in 2021!, if nothing done for Peak summer bookings.

To have a fast testing facility available would make a big difference for passengers negating 14 days quarantine requirement. It would need to be cheap enough for familes to do this for their summer break.

Im in departures now after checking in and going through security. My experience, airport busy checkin ( Ryanair ) 25 mins. Security very good 10-15 mins. 4 scanners open.

Easyjet have 2 delays BFS and AMS both around an hour, also ALC and BFS later tonight. Everything else is on time.

Spotted a Wizzair A321 arrive as im was climbing step. In my seat, reckon flight will be full.

Went to a.meeting last night where the head of Border Control was the guest speaker. Interesting insite to what personnel deal with at the border. They are responsible for Liverpool Airport,.Liverpool Docks and Heysham Docks. New e gates are due to be installed this autumn. Not sure what I feel about that, I like to talk to a person on arrival home I think.

I didn't imagine that Border Force at LPL would have to deal with asylum seekers from far flung places such as East Timor. The Border area will be extended again this autumn, also changes in security too as new equipment is installed soon.

I don't really know. I know Tees side got new scanners early, but then everything seemed to be delayed with the liquids rule. I think Liverpool always intended to do this in the autumn, same for e gates.

Most airports were delayed, you're right but even then most have had them fully up and running since about July.

I still makes a big deference to be honest as it means liquids can now be left in the peoples bags.

Depend what airport you are at. There is some variation on how they are dealing with new scanners but going back to old liquid rules. For example, on new scanners LHR and ABZ are liquids out. NCL and LCY are liquids in. In all cases tho, electronics stay in.

Read elsewhere that the new security work has now been completed. I will be able to test it for myself next month.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
