Previous plan:

Current plan:
Of course only indicative pictures and will have to wait and see the actual plans when they come out, but what we're now getting looks better to me than the previous terminal extension.
The previous plans equated to an extra 4200sqm of terminal space accessible to passengers - so not including offices, baggage and back of house space - over two floors, whereas the area currently occupied by security is roughly 4400sqm (taken from google maps).
The majority of seating in the previous terminal extension was associated with eateries as well, so there's very little difference in that regard.
Again, the master plan has not been thrown in the bin - the stand reconfiguration of the master plan is still progressing. As of yet there has been no confirmation from the airport that the previous terminal extension will no longer happen, and even if it does end up being cancelled we'd still be up one project as the redeveloped security area and the Eurohub queuing area weren't in the master plan.
