Hi. First post.
I visit MAP most weekends with my son.We love the Airport and the aircraft.
Anyway,we are flying out of Manchester on Saturday the 12th February 2011 (half term) on Monarch Charter ,flight number ZB ??? to Arrecife at 08.00 and returning 5 days later on the Thursday at about 16.45.Does anyone know what aircraft may be used for this flight.

I would assume it be the Airbus A321, i dont think their A300's go to ACE chris.

My son was hoping for a wide bodied. Out of interest which Winter,European destination do wide bodoed aircraft fly to from MAP.

[textarea]Monarch plans Manchester Airport growth

Monarch Airlines hopes to carry an additional 100,000 passengers on its routes to and from Manchester Airport over the next 12 months. It plans to add flights to new destinations and additional frequencies on existing services.

The airline, which currently operates 280 flights a week in and out of Manchester, will carry 1.9m passengers in the year to the end of October and hopes to reach 2m in the next 12 months. It aims to handle 2.5m within three years. Monarch is close to announcing new routes and additional frequencies for 2012 at its largest base; it has a fleet of 11 jets at Manchester and employs 650 staff there.

The airline is moving its operations from Terminal One to Terminal Two from Tuesday, November 15. Monarch's managing director Kevin George said the switch would enable the carrier to provide a better service to customers, with a dedicated check-in area.

Great news for Manchester airport once again. They're having a good run of new services of late.

How many based aircraft will Monarch have at Manchester for next summer and is the long haul effected by their recently announced changes?

That now makes 4 carriers (Easyjet, Lufthansa, Singapore airlines and Monarch) on MAN-MUC with up to 6 daily flights.

Also 2 weekly freidschenshafen (cannot even begin to spell it)

Little in the way of new routes from Manchester but I suppose Monarch Airlines already have a sizable operation at Manchester anyway. How many aircraft are based at Manchester can anybody confirm?

I think they did Aviador, as Grenoble is bookable from both; Manchester and LBA, as well as Birmingham and Gatwick!

I don't remember it being an already existing route, so should be new from MAN as well!

Theres a probable chance i could be going away to egypt this october with family. Were looking at Monarch and i've done a dummy run to see how the seating looks. My first question is - A330 or A300 on the thursday SSH flight? My second is - it is fairly empty surely this is bad for the airline unless the under belly (cargo) is selling so well? Anyone care to enlighten. And final question is would there be a chance for this to be swapped to a 757 or A320/21?

Isn't Monarch on the verge of getting rid of it's A300's and A330 fleet? I'm sure they're replacing them with A321 aircraft, can't remember when though. On another note many operators are cancelling flights to Egypt because it's still so volatile there.

Announced today is the arrival of 1 extra based aircraft (on top of the A300 and B757 replacements) and 4 new routes.

Agadir, Naples, Enfidha and Hurgarda all 2 weekly for Summer 2014.

Monarch are dropping the following summer routes from Manchester to Antalya, Bodrum, Dubrovnik, Las Palmas, Cyprus Larnaca & Paphos.
