I lived in Mallorca when I was young for a couple of years and the resorts tend to close up - not totally but bars etc that remain open cater mainly to locals. Palma does get plenty of off season tourism as WH alluded to, and winter is an ideal time to visit, much more authentic. Cycling generates a lot of visitors to the island over the off season as well as hikers. 2 x weekly would probably do reasonably well.

Starflyer gave an update / hint last Friday in the Route Development thread
I think any talk of a base is some way off and suspect another couple of European bases will come before much more in the UK. That said last week’s Marrakesh announcement came as a surprise!

You’re likely to see some more Summer 2026 announcements for easyJet by about 10 November. They’ll know by then what runway slots they have at busier airports for S26 and how the plans all fit together (or don’t!). I’d have a close look at the current away-based EJU flying into Newcastle as to what fits into the gaps for the new EZY base there, and what might therefore pop up elsewhere.

My impression is that you’ll see a little bit more from them at LBA for S26 but I don’t think it will be earth-shattering.

I think anything at all new from easyJet is to be welcomed. There business model does generally seem to be to test the water with away based routes before committing to a base and probably haven't quite got enough away based flights to support even a 2 x A/C based just yet. But they do keep doing bits extra so LBA is clearly on their radar

Amsterdam and Alicante (which they currently don’t serve from LBA) and Belfast, Paris, Palma and Malaga (which they do). I’m ignoring BRS here.

I guess if they added AMS and ALC from LBA they would end up with something very similar to ‘pre-base’ Newcastle

And with a base (in time) frequency increases, even if just 1 per route, and a few new destinations will support the base. Think we are all sure the base is coming - it's just a matter of when/how soon

I'd like to see BCN extended as Jet2 need a bit of competition on what was once daily and subsequently covered by 3 airlines. Looking at the winter fares many still at minimum I dont hold much optimism!

EasyJet holidays already has LBA-BCN 2x weekly on sale for winter 26/27

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
