And wait until we get to Saturday afternoons in summer. Wasn't great at times last year so don't expect 2024 to be any better so stands definitely needed

Think as has been said U2 need a whole improvement in facilities before anything really happens with them
Exactly a not fit for purpose terminal and no where to park big orange planes so we currently aint doing very well, but all will change!

U2 are thinking along the same lines as the rest of us - twice!!!
Will U2 give up!

Can we keep to the "Runways, Aprons and Taxiways" for discussion on new stands, please. This development applies to all airlines, not just easyJet

It's still relevant to Jet2, Ryanair and any other airline that are being held back from launching new services.
I know how the thread developed but at some point it has to be brought back "into line". I am not trying to stifle debate, but having it in the right thread.

Agree @Seasider however I think the increased U2 relevance was in getting them to LBA in the first place - at least with more than 5 x BFS p/w. We do though have a lot to look forward to in a couple of years time and there are enough hints/suggestions that U2 may just be a part of that

@Seasider i would love to know how you know Ryanair, Jet2 or any other airline/operator are been held back?

That's not the case. I've said this all along because the way I understand it, stands will/would be built if and when needed/required.
That's even without the terminal extension been built and the 10+ new stands that are part of the #LBAREGEN programme.

All I'm saying is that 2 new stands are been built next winter. I know the airport want easyJet base but they won't come without the terminal extension, They'll have it!
So put 1 & 1 together next Summer what do you get??

I don't know that Jet2, Ryanair are being held back, as I don't know that easyJet are being held back.
My point was that building new stands will affect all airlines who/wish to, operate from LBA so the debate should be in the appropriate thread.

I think in that case most threads go off topic! But often keep some loose resemblance to the respective thread. Perhaps one to agree to disagree on

I'm sure I've read either on here or elsewhere the first 2+ additional stands (10+ in total) are to be built next winter ready for use summer 2025.

Now put a nice new shiny Terminal extension & 2 additional stands (which will only be built if needed) together what do you get?
I note the discussion about derailing the thread, however you are correct. 2 extra stands per year during winter starting winter 24/25. They would not be doing it without a commercial reason to do so.

I would expect management are keen to expedite given the push to get DSA reopen, they’ll want to get as many commercial agreements signed as possible before that time I expect. Terminal to be completely gutted and rebuilt from within after the extension is complete so might take quite some time before it’s all done, but by this time in 2026 may see more operators moving in.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
