This is just a head up to let you all know that there will be an unusual visitor coming to LBA on both Sunday, March 13th and Tuesday, March 15th

Adria Airways are operating a charter from Leeds/Bradford to Munich in Germany and back with an Airbus A319.

Let's hope this is the forerunner to a future regular service to Munchen. Germany is an area of the EU sorely lacking in services from LBA.

Hi all,

Slightly OT, but can anyone help me identify what this is... seen from Wortley, Leeds around 17:57 this evening. Couldn't see it on Casper (although AFAICT it's not particularly good for this area, it is the only one I can find that lets you "rewind").

Just looking at the Casper website (btw thanks for making me aware of this!), at around 1750 a Lufthansa A340-300 passed just south of Leeds on route from Frankfurt to Newark USA. Reg D-AIGN!
The picture also looks like it could well be an A340!

For info, we get the Paris - New York Air France A380 over Leeds around 12:30pm on weekdays, although I could be slightly off with that time, but I've seen it with my own eyes, then had it confirmed with FlightRadar24 on my iPhone.

The aircraft landed at 10:14 this morning.

And seen as nobody has posted this already the Adria Airways aircraft that visited yesterday on the Munich charter was Airbus A319, S5-AAP.

The charter flights is/was operated on behalf of Audi motors and another Adria Airways aircarft will return to LBA tomorrow evening at 19:30 from Munich.

I can confirm the above, as I spoke to the crew yesterday as they wanted to go into the airport, but were stranded at the doors to airbridge 7! We had to inform Servisair they wanted to disembark, as we are not allowed to escort non-Jet 2 crews!

Just a reminder that the Adria Airways A319 is due back into LBA this evening. Thats if the fog Clears off course.

A couple of aircraft have landed in the past half hour, although they are no doubt using Cat3 (Runway 32). Fingers crossed it will start to clear a bit in time for this to get in, but overall, its been a right rubbish day at LBA.

How many more days like today can the LBIA have before the airlines and passengers start voting with their feet?

It must be costing the airlines a small fortune to operate ex Leeds in winter and can only put the marginal routes at greater risk of being axed and moved to Man / Dsa.

Looks to me like a 340 or 340-600. I've seen four-engined jets flying high above when I lived in Otley. Depending on the angle you could tell through binocs what type they were - I saw 747's with red tails (presumably Virgin). It's good though that we can see the big ones from here!

I Don't know how this has happened but I guess its due to all the distruption we have had over the last couple of days but LBA has the following 4 ryanair Boeing 737-800WL based. EI-ENY, EI-DAM, EI-DLG, EI-EMH.

Also early this morning flybe's Dash8, G-JEDI repositioned to LBA from Manchester as BE41W to operate the morning BE350 London Gatwick service.

Meanwhile flybe used, Embrear 195, G-FBEJ on this mornings delayed BE171/172 Southampton services.

Thomas Cook are using a Boeing 757-200, G-FCLC for a change on this evenings TCX52MA inbound charter from Tenerife South.

Spent today up by the cemetery and this aircraft emerged from behind the Multiflight hangar. Anyone know anything about it - type/destination/reason for been here etc.? I know it's American.
