Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It was on the apron on Thursday morning but nose towards Multiflight cafe so I could not see the registration. The aircraft belongs to Exxon according to the dataI have, they maufacture aviation oils.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Never seen a US-reg plane at LBA before must be a rare occurence. Glad I picked today for a visit.

Anyone know why the pic has gone the same way as some of the avatars and been replaced by the "red x in a box"?

Hi masere, you didn't use the full code to link to your picture.

I've been to your account on photobucket to retrieve the image I think you are referring to. As for the Avatars that are no longer showing, unfortunately they didn't transfer across to the new server. People are more than welcome to upload a new one now we have our own dedicated server.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Cheers Aviador. Was busy up there yesterday late afternoon. The Easyjet departure must have been virtually empty as it came onto the runway and took off from there rather than taxi-ing to the end and turning. Hopefully somebody will come up with info about that US-reg plane - a300 boy said it was owned by Exxon.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I forgot to compliment your picture too, so well done. Yesterday was very busy. A good warm up for the summer I guess.

Was that the last Easyjet for the season?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I overheard someone saying that it was and the reason for it not having many aboard.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

There were a few helicopters in and out too - one that looks like Airwolf landed on the runway above the tunnel, and the Air Ambulance was in and out a few times - a combination of warm weather and a bank holiday keeping them busy.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

There was another EZY flight from Geneva this morning and the last one is tomorrow I think, as nothing is showing up for Monday and I seem to recall it was only supposed to operate until the last week of April.

Incidentally, we have two or three fairly large aircraft (the last one looked like a 767) flying directly over the Cookridge area this afternoon, heading toward MAN. They were clearly descending and heading in that direction, and since there was a thunderstorm to the South of Leeds at the time (with thunder clearly audible up here) I can only assume that they were re-routed to the North to avoid it. Normally we never see MAN bound aircraft up here near LBA.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi Heather,
Regarding the storm.Try this link, it's quite useful but sometimes worrying I suppose when you know your going to fly.I remember last Summer I was flying from Russia and about 3,000 lightning strikes were showing in the east. We had a lot of turbulence and Aeroflot pilots do not inspire confidence.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I think its the dashes Heather, so lightningdashuniteddashkingdom.php
I think Aviador will help.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Heather,I think you were right as to why the flights were deviating form the normal track and you could see the reason for it with a bank of strikes but the evidence has now disappeared. It only shows for 100 mins.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Thanks wawkrk - really interesting. I will try NOT to look at it before my flight to Mahon in September!!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

Just to clarify that jet2 did not move there B737-800's around at LBA today. Instead the following aircraft were seen today.

LS300T F/ Manchester = B757-200, G-LSAH
LS301T T/ Manchester = B737-300, G-CELE

Hope that helps.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Anyone know what the 17.30 arrival from Brize Norton is today? It's on the arrivals page as Astraeus. Military? Another C-17? Probably just a dull passenger one though.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

More like aJet2 757 on sub charter to Astraus, returning from an MOD flight

I can confirm that its Jet2's Boeing 757-200, G-LSAA that is currently positioning into LBA from RAF Brize Norton as AEU742P.

She has been operating a MOD Charter on lease to Astraeus.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Can anyone shed anylight on the flight to Alta, Norway (BID7B) which arrived from Bonn-Cologne (BID7A) just after the special MOD Charter?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
