Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Does anyone know what the GLS392 flight is - inbound at 21:55 from Milan Bergamo this evening..?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I think it's a mistake on the departure board because there is also a weird flight number for the Amsterdam flight and this evenings Ryanair flight from Malaga. And it you look carefully, the flight numbers are correct it's just the aircraft code that's wrong.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It looks like Thomsons Palma route is commencing again tommorow.Looking at flight stats, it looks as if the flight will be operated by a b757

Yep you are correct. May 1st has always been the traditional start of the summer charter flights schedule in the UK for the likes of Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Channex757, yes on closer inspection you can see it's just LS392 with a G stuck at the front

I too was under the impression that Air Europa were operating the Palma flight with one of their B738's....

Everyone watch, I bet a Thomson 767 turns up now... :whiteflag:

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I've just been looking at the Thomson timetable and it looks as though this is what's happening...

PMI - LBA / 01 May 12-12 Jun 12
TOM 3251 10:50 12:30
LBA - PMI / 01 May 12-12 Jun 12
TOM 3250 14:05 17:40

PMI - LBA / 19 Jun 12-02 Oct 12
AEA 0293 12:45 14:35
LBA - PMI / 19 Jun 12-02 Oct 12
AEA 0294 15:25 19:00

PMI - LBA / 09 Oct 12-30 Oct 12
TOM 3251 10:50 12:30
LBA - PMI / 09 Oct 12-30 Oct 12
TOM 3250 14:05 17:40

So it looks as though a Thomson aircraft will be operating at both sides of the Summer season, and then within the very peak Summer season, an Air Europa B738 will be operating the flights...

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

i wonder why when it is the 'very peak' season, Thomson are lowering seating capacity from a 757 to an Air Europa 738. Or is it because the Thomson 757 aircraft maybe required to fly another route during the very peak season.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I would imagine it will be because the 757 will be needed elsewhere in the network. Looking at them dates, it'll either be a additional frequency or somewhere else like Mykonos etc.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

This is not unusual for TOM - most will remember that when we had a Britannia 767 on this route, it only operated for the first couple of months and from July it dropped back to a 757, so the same reduction in capacity. There is no logic to it from an LBA point of view - it just showns that TOM always give other operations the priority and LBA seems to get what is left despite the fact that for the most part, all their flights are full, whatever aircraft they use. Its incredible that last year they put on a 767-300 which operated fully loaded most of the time, yet this year we drop down to a 738.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Leeds based Jet2.com Boeing 737-300, G-GDFK is out on an engineering sortie again this afternoon operating as LS051L. She headed up to Newcastle and out over the North Sea before making a U-Turn and looks to be heading back to LBA now.

Meanwhile the Boeing 737-300, G-CELB has just re-positioned back into Leeds as LS041A from Venice-Marco Polo after going tech down route yesterday.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I see Jet2, Boeing 737-300, G-GDFK has been out on another test run up over Newcastle and the North Sea this afternoon operating as LS025B.

Also for anyone who might have seen the 2x RAF Merlin's yesterday evening up near LBA here are there reg's: ZJ998/AE & ZJ134/S. I understand both night-stopped at nearby Coney Park and departed mid morning back to RAF Benson.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Do we know when G-GDFK will become operational commercially with Jet2?

Speaking of FK, she has just departed LBA again as EXS053B (LS53B) and is again, heading up towards the North Sea, currently over Darlington.
LBA Deps/Arrs boards say she's due back at 1930hrs.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Looks like Jet2 Boeing 737-300, G-CELS has gone tech down route in Düsseldorf this evening as the inbound LS348 service is now showing INDEFINITE DELAY on the LBA arrival boards. Meanwhile Düsseldorf Airport website departures page is showing the flight as Cancelled. http://www.duesseldorf-international.de/dus_en/abflug

This will cause some headache for Jet2's at LBA in the morning. As 9 aircraft are required for scheduled flights while a 10th aircraft is required to operate a day trip charter to Krakow. As I understand there will only be 9 serviceable aircraft at LBA unless they can get G-CELS back. Otherwise I guess they may have to opt to position in a Boeing 737-300QC from either Edinburgh or Newcastle to cover tomorrow morning.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

The Dusselforf flight landed at 06.44 this morning so that should solve the problem of having enough 737s to operate this morning schedule

The passengers were put in a hotel overnight

Well looks like I was right afteral, As Belfast Based Boeing 737-300, G-CELV positioned into LBA at 02:30 this morning as LS031R to operate the morning LS241/242 Nice service before it re-positioned back to Belfast as LS32R this afternoon.

Also Newcastle based Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI was sent into LBA early doors as LS106C operate the Krakow charter today. It looks like she's heading back to the North East in a few mins as LS107C.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
