Discussions relating to London Luton Airport
TUI only 1 aircraft, it used to be one of their strongholds.

Luton Airport could launch flights to New York, Dubai, Cancún and more

The airport is seeking permission for another terminal to handle long-haul services

Ambitious or realistic? The airport seems to do well but is long haul really realistic especially if you consider it only has a relatively short runway.

It's been tried before without success, so I do not know what makes it feasible now.

I don't see it happening, Stansted a much bigger airport doesn't seem to be able to make long haul work and i don't see Luton being able to either.

I think the way the airport will view this is they have a critical mass which enables flights further afield, They do still have the limitations of the runway itself which isn't exactly the longest in the world. I think what they're suggesting is achievable though with flights with a similar range to places such as Dubai, New York and Cancun. They seem to indicate terminal capacity as the overriding constraint. #LTNLongHaul

Here's the airports current masterplan:

Good news for Luton as the Levelling Up Minister approves a while raft if changes including a terminal extension, extended and new taxiways, and a dual carriageway access road subject to revised noise contouring and, if the expected increase in new generation quieter aircraft' doesn't materialise, a suggestion passenger numbers should be limited until it does.

I would post the report but apparently I'm at my limit, so can't. It's on Google News.

Looking at posts on another forum, it seems that the above mentioned works have been completed already, and the application is for an increase in the passenger limit to 19mppa. The airport was required to have completed the infrastructure works before applying to raise the limit.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
