There are reports on another forum that the rest of the Flybe timetable will be released on December 9th, lets hope there's some good news for BHX.

From this snippet it looks like the new transit facility may have had Flybe in mind

Strange move if true, but yet cannot use there own E195s.

Very disappointing news from Flybe regarding BHX.

New routes to Bastia (1x weekly) and Biarritz (1x weekly), Amsterdam goes up to 4x daily and Jersey to 3x daily.

Gone are Cologne (daily), Florence (6x weekly), Palma (4x weekly), Alicante (4x weekly), Reykjavik (3x weekly) and Ibiza (3x weekly).

So 25 routes next summer compared to 33 last summer and 27 this winter :s_sad

Could of been better, however if these routes have been stopped for operational reasons then obviously Flybe have not done there homework properley and that is more concerning. They should be aware that the runway at florence is short and its hot in the summer, also the same for IBZ, PMI AND ALC.
No need for a leased A320 then ????

Palma, Alicante and Florence did very well by all accounts, especially Florence but there is a supposed issue on the 175. Cologne has been done many times before and failed each go, with Flybe also having 4 daily flights to Dusseldorf if was never going to stay. Reykjavik will have been hit by the arrival of Icelandair.

Unfortunate but all understandable, although it doesn't help BHX. I guess the blow was slightly softened with increases elsewhere.

Knock, Waterford, Porto, Toulouse, Oslo and Hamburg all not bookable (website shows full or not enough seats) and Hannover looking at a cut from 2x daily to 1x daily, this leaves the 25 routes ex BHX that the press release states.

I seriously hope it's a timetable update as if not then it's downright embarrasing for BHX!!!!!!!

Also if this is indeed the full timetable, then irish routes from BHX have gone over the cliff in the spate of a few weeks, with SNN also gone, this will leave Dublin and Cork.

What is going on ??????

Its starting to feel like a certain airline and BHX have fallen out ????

If you look at the CAA Stats the loads between BHX and Ireland have been astonishing.

So what do we think the damage will be? From the twelve based this year I reckon we'll be down to eight or nine next year?

The damage will be our 10million pax is just a dream once again and we may not even have higher pax figures than this year. Now that is stomarch churning.

Disappointing? Yes. Frustrating? Definatley. The question has to be asked why BHX continues to suffer these setbacks while other airports appear to be going from strength to strength. It seems to me that for whatever reason BHX just cannot support any airline with a sizeable route network - those that try fail while the others streer well clear - where does the blame lie?

A very good question and with a string of failures the spotlight has to be on the management. I wonder though if Flybe found out about Norwegian and spat their dummy out, pulling routes in protest? Only those in the corridors of power will know but if they did then BHX can't be blamed.

The three Norwegian routes won't even scratch the surface of the damage done by Flybe but with limited aircraft and high prices they we're never going to be the answer to BHX's problems. Lets hope that Flybe go back to the niche, business friendly markets that do so well for them and that BHX can somehow get Norwegian to commit to a base in the future.

I didn't realise BHX was the last remaining route out of Waterford, sad news for the employees :sad:

One of the country’s regional airports is facing an uncertain future following the decision by UK carrier Flybe to cancel the only remaining route using the facility.

Management at Waterford Airport have reacted with dismay to the move by Flybe to cancel its Birmingham-Waterford service from next March, following the suspension of its Manchester route last October, describing it as “incomprehensible”.

If the airport doesn’t secure alternative business in the meantime, it will be left with no commercial services once Flybe pulls out in the coming months.

I've always had alot of time for Flybe and they've mostly done good things for BHX over the years but this is just wrong :s_no

It’s understood Flybe didn’t officially notify Waterford Airport of its decision to pull out, with staff and management only becoming aware on Thursday when customers realised they couldn’t book flights to and from Birmingham after March 20 of next year.

Well i hope the good folks in Waterford are going to fight for this route and get that petition going, people power does sometimes work. Good luck to them.

Talking about Airports that have no flights, i noticed on another forum that Blackpool airport is about to re open. Since Jet2 departed and with good reason, which other airlines would fly there ?????

Flybe are doing their Purple Wednesday sale today with one way flights at £15. From BHX there is the choice of ABZ, AMS, CGN, HAM, DUS, EDI, GLA, HAJ and IOM. Could be a nice weekend break early next year.

Just read on another forum that Flybe appear to be losing some of their E175's with JG and JH joining Kalstar Aviation along with the E195. It could go some way to explaining why so many routes were chopped.

It looks like "Jet aircraft" are not suited to the flybe model, turboprop all the way.

Wouldnt fancy going all the way to Berlin on one of those Dash 8 thingies though. Upto Glasgow or Edinburgh is ok.
Went on one upto EDI 2 years ago, oh my god was it bumpy on our way down into EDI going over the sea, not one of my best plane experience if im being honest, LOL
