Considering Flybe launched FCO today from CWL i was thinking could they also be about to launch it from BHX? Unless it's just a route for CWL i would've thought they would want to launch it from there bigger bases?

hmmmm.... its pushing their 'regional' reach, though I know they fly BHX-Corsica which isn't much further...

an interesting route!

It may be just for CWL as the airport has been after Rome for quite a while but Rome is also a big market in itself which doesn't have a regional airline that flies it from BHX and MAN, it's all LCC and Flybe do have a codeshare partnership with Etihad who own Alitalia so i'm wondering if a potential codeshare with them could be in offing? Similar to what happended with Air Berlin who are also owned by Etihad! Or maybe i'm thinking too much!

I dread the day they consider acquiring an Airbus or Boeing as this may signal an over reach of activities....your thoughts please....!!
I think Flybe will always have 80-100 seater aircraft and I believe they are trying to become a feeder airline for many bigger airlines without a similar operation in Europe.

Some S17 flights now being loaded into the timetable.

Bordeaux is 5 weekly (was it 4 weekly in S16?)

Nantes looks like 5 weekly again

Rennes is only showing as 2 weekly (Sat and Sun, was 4 weekly in S16)

Toulouse continues as daily but with the same flight numbers that Limoges had this year – the latter isn't showing for S17 so it may be being dropped?

Bastia and Avignon are both 1 weekly (what was the frequency for Avignon in S16?)

Biarritz has disappeared altogether from the timetable and drop down menu.

Finnair are now codesharing on some European routes. The report also lists Southampton-Birmingham as a route but I presume they mean Southampton-Manchester.
Finnair at the launch of winter 2016/17 season (from 30OCT16) expanded codeshare partnership with flyBe, covering a number of routes between UK and Europe. Planned new codeshare routes include the following.

Finnair operated by flyBe
Birmingham – Amsterdam
Birmingham – Berlin Tegel
Birmingham – Dusseldorf
Birmingham – Paris CDG

The October pax stats should give a better idea when they are eventually released.

Rotterdam continues at 12 weekly which hopefully means it is doing well, especially after MAN-RTM was reduced from 12 to 4 weekly almost as quickly as it started. Luxembourg continues as daily.

Neither escape the usual Flybe Jan/Feb cuts with Rotterdam going to 7 weekly (no Tue but two on a Fri) and Luxembourg dropping to 5x weekly.

We'll see what happens for summer 17 which should be out today.

Flybe seem to have put their Birmingham Summer 2017 flights on sale with some glitches (I hope). All the French regional routes are on sale with a reduction in BES and I think an increase on BIQ. LIG, NTE and RNS return. No RTM at all or from MAN. LUX is bookable outbound daily (Weekdays and Sun pm dep and Sat am dep) but the website doesn't allow for a return flight to be booked, same with MAN-LUX. Odd unless its a work in progress. BHD sees 8 flights some days yet EDI has less flights than GLA, STR back to 2 daily 3 in September 2017 (again return flights not bookable) and HAJ is just daily but then twice daily in September both pm departures! MXP is 3xdaily. As always with Flybe things will change.

It would appear that BHX-STR and BHX-LUX are now on sale departure and return. The former twice daily Mon-Fri and daily Sat and Sunday then three daily in September. The latter daily in evening Mon-Fri and Sunday and Sat am dep. Rotterdam still not on sale.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rotterdam didn't return. MAN-RTM was dropped from 12 to 4 weekly as quickly as it began, BHX-RTM lasts a little longer at 12 weekly but still drops to 5 weekly from Jan.

Both BHX and MAN have double digit departures every day to Amsterdam, so maybe there is just too much capacity?

If it does go hopefully it leaves an opening for a new route or two :)

Ray I agree Rotterdam twice daily from BHX was too much too quickly, my guess is that Flybe we offered generous reductions for handling etc.
Darren

Similarly to MAN, BHX to BOD is showing on the FLYBE search engine from 26MAR17, but currently not able to select non-stop flights.

Could be something.
Could be part of the codeshare agreement they have with Air France.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
