Well I understand that Loganair's Saab 340, G-LGNA has been out of service for quite some time after an incident a few months ago up at Glasgow. But don't know if they have a second aircraft out of service now.

Does anybody know how the GLA flight is doing? Average loads would be nice to know. I noticed that only 3 people were on the moring flight BE6980 the other day! :shok: It was a friday but still...

Loganair are leasing the German registered Dornier 328, D-CIRD which has been operating the Leeds-Glasgow route now for a few weeks. I understand the aircarft will be in use until the airlines Dundee base is closed, which will then release a Saab 340 to operate the route again.

I hear they are quite happy with the passenger stats so far otherwise surely they would have dropped the route at the end of the summer schedule, just like Flybe did with both the Exeter and Knock routes. Also the Sunday evening rotation was re-introduced recently which was a promising sign as well.....

LBA787, there was a similar question raised in October on the CAA Passenger Numbers thread and at the time I calculated that based on the number of rotations within September and quoted passenger numbers the average load was around 25, which on a Saab is OK, especially on a new route.

Well it looks like Loganair may have swapped the leased German registered Dornier 328, D-CIRD with a leased Flybe.com Dash 8-Q400. As G-JEDR has operated both today's Glasgow-Leeds-Glasgow service's

Lots of rattle room on those flights then with probably 70% of seats empty. It would be nice to see the Dash 8 doing the route every day though!

Loganair (flybe) Winter 2013/2014 Glasgow - Leeds/Bradford flight schedule is now on sale. Flights will operate 9X weekly as follows by Saab 340 aircraft.

BE6980 GLA 07:10 LBA 08:15 / BE6981 LBA 08:45 GLA 09:50 = MO,TU,WE,TH
BE6984 GLA 17:15 LBA 18:20 / BE6985 LBA 18:50 GLA 09:55 = MO,TU,WE,TH,FR

Down to 9 a week then. Smacks of yet another domestic route slowly on it's way out.

Think you'll find that the Glasgow route has been operating 9x weekly since the Sunday flight was dropped at the begining of the Winter season.

Not had a Friday morning flight since Loganair took the route over last year after it was dropped by bmi who operated the route even less.

The route seems to perform well with figures usually in the high teens to mid twenties. With the prices as they are I'm sure loganair are making a profit. It's a shame about the Sunday service getting the chop but as long as they are on the route there's the possibility of reinstatement if demand increases.

I just wonder if the EDI route could be operated by loganair? S340 is a perfect fit for it...

Loganair, Saab 340 G-LGNJ went tech on arrival into Leeds from Glasgow as LOG26JL this evening and looks to be night stopping. A second Loganair Saab 340, G-LGNH was positioned into Leeds late this evening empty as LOG830F to operate the Northbound LOG12DC service back to Glasgow.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but it looks like Loganair have reverted back to using the Saab 340's on the Glasgow - Leeds route as of the commencement off the summer schedule this week.

The only outcome I can see is yet another route likely to be chopped then!!

The route is a franchise for Flybe so maybe Flybe will operate the route? I'd say Bigman's version is the most likely though after BMI's hurried departure from LBA a couple of years back.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
