To go with the new route to Malta Ryanair have now announced extra capacity for 2015 on the following routes:

Alicante
Faro
Lanzarote
Malaga
Palma de Mallorca
Tenerife

In the interview the Ryanair spokesperson said there will be 36 routes out of EMA for summer 2015. There have been 38 routes this summer so taking into account the new route to Malta are we expecting three destinations to be dropped to make way for these extra flights?

BUDGET Irish carrier Ryanair will tomorrow announce plans to return to Belfast with several new domestic and European routes in the pipeline - including a much coveted link with German capital Berlin.

Initially launching with flights to London Gatwick from Belfast International Airport, it is understood the airline will add other European routes to Barcelona and Brussels as well as domestic links to Leeds/Bradford, East Midlands and Newcastle.

Looks like Ryanair are to start operating between East Midlands and Belfast International. This is excellent news for EMA as new services have been few and far between of late.

Possible new route to Pescara on the way?

Specifically these are the destinations that Ryanair would like to insert from the airport of Pescara:

  • Dublin , Ireland's capital;
  • East Midlands , English airport (60 km away from Birmingham, England's second city) from which you can reach the 3 cities of Leicester, Derby and Nottingham;
  • Valencia , the third Spanish city by population;
  • Marseille , France's second city after Paris and the largest port in the country;
  • Vilnius , the capital of Lithuania;
  • Warsaw , Poland's capital;
  • Krakow , the ancient city of Polish art.

3 NEW ROUTES TO BUDAPEST, GIRONA & REUS

Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, today (18 Oct) launched its biggest ever East Midlands summer schedule (2017), with 3 new routes to Budapest, Girona and Reus, which will deliver 2.5m customers p.a. and support 1,900* jobs at East Midlands Airport, as Ryanair grows its East Midlands traffic by 4% in 2017.

Ryanair’s East Midlands Summer 2017 schedule will see more frequencies to sun destinations, lower fares (as Ryanair passes on lower fuel costs), and an even better customer experience, as it rolls out year 3 of its “Always Getting Better” customer experience programme, and will deliver:

3 new routes to Budapest (3 weekly), Girona (2 weekly) & Reus (2 weekly)
Extra flights to Menorca (3 weekly) & Malta (3 weekly)
37 routes in total
2.5m customers p.a. (+100,000)
1,900* “on-site” jobs p.a.
Ryanair will continue to connect East Midlands with popular sun destinations on low fare services including Alicante (3 daily), Malaga (2 daily) and Palma (2 daily), with better timings and lower fares, making Ryanair the ideal choice for UK customers.

I can't understand the assumption that Ryanair are leaving EMA (and going to BHX) just because flights are not on sale yet. Maybe they are trying for a better deal from the MAG.

Or maybe they haven’t sorted out flights they are doing and when Ect..

They were briefly showing but have now disappeared again. even if they are closing the base, i find it very odd that they haven’t put on sale routes like Dublin, which operates with away based aircraft.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
