No idea on the MNG flights but there does seem to have been a slowdown on the freighters in general. I know we have been seeing the Silkway flights but they certainly seem to have been less often than previous months.

Silkway B747-400F in from Baku again this afternoon followed by a Star Air 767 from Billund early this evening.

They keep coming 😃

I should think it is its first visit the flight looks like it could of originated in Hong Kong routing via Muscat and Budapest on to Birmingham.

The aircraft seems to have had no less than twelve owners since entering service in 1994 with Malaysian Airways including twice with Air Atlantic.

That's todays useless information!

The movementsblog showing the following due in today÷

Maersk 767 from Bilund due 18:25
National 744 N663CA due 18:50 no origin shown?
MNG A332 TC-MCZ fron Istanbul due19:30

The MNG A332 is currently on the ground at Istanbul according to FR24 so hopefully will turn up and if all three do arrive at the scheduled time I hope the freight handler can cope.

Further to my post yesterday.

The National 744 turned up from Dubai DWC departed to Zaragoz. The Maersk 767 arrived from Billund night stopped and departed mid morning.
Meanwhile the MNG A332 never arrived and is down for today but as it seems to have a mind of its own so who knows.

The phantom MGM A332 has actually turned up if FR24 is to believed and is due to return to shortly to Istanbul

The Maersk 77L is in again tommorow looks to be a regular now along with the 767s, long may they continue ☺

I understand most things about international trade, but one thing perplexes me about cargo operations at Birmingham.

What on earth fills a 744F from Baku?

Azerbaijan is small in terms of population, about 10 million people, and its main exports are oil and gas. So, there is no way these regular flights into Brum are carrying either of those fuels (I hope!).

So what are they carrying? Is Baku a hub where cago is transmitted on to the UK, or is there some strong link with industry, possibly the motor industry.

If anyone knows or can add to my general question, I would love to know...

Looking at their website, they do offer a number of destinations which all feed into Baku for their network of flights. I would say that there a very high chance that most of the cargo we see here at BHX is originating in China (probably Temu / Shein etc).

Yes, definitely originating from China.
If you follow their flights pattern on FR24, I can almost guarantee an onward flight to BHX.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
