As we don’t see the -800 series 747s at BHX what is the restriction. The wingspan is approx 4m greater. Taxiway L was/is I believe unavailable to the B747 (regardless of the present works) and the turn around the top of taxiway G always needs a ‘follow me’ due it’s turning circle/radius. It always seems rather ‘tight’ on the Elmdon side with the old tower and hangar still there when widebodies are concerned.

I think the 747-8 could operate from the passenger terminal without a problem but never has, however the Elmdon side maybe more than a bit tight after all it was originally built to cater for the DH84 Dragon Rapide etc 😃.

Mainly because of time of year. This is popular time.School preparation,University preparation,Football shirts etc

Can't see it being that to any significant effect the 777L has been operating on random days since at least March sometimes coinciding with a a 747 on the same day. All these Silkway flights seem pretty random and just subject to demand for Chinese stuff of questionable and ethical quality you might say.

Believe the reason for no 747-8s is the same reason for no A346 - because of their length and the position of the wheels they can’t negotiate some of the taxiways.

Uzbekistan B763F UK67002 due in 06.30E from Tashkent.

Silkway B744F 4K-BCI is due late, at 11.33E. It was scheduled to be on the ground at 06.30E along with Uzbekistan.

I recently saw a news article about the deliveries from the likes of Temu… they are very popular because of a lack of import taxes for small items, but the government’s looking into changing this as British businesses feel that they are being undercut. Time will tell whether this has an effect on our cargo flights.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
