Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
I travelled through LPL yesterday morning on the Loganair IOM flight and it was a pleasurable experience.
My only comment is that the gate was to be announced at 07.50 which was the final boarding time! When the gate was announced, it said "final call for boarding", how come?

Normally from my experience the go to gate is announced i think its 30 or 40 mins before the departure time. When i say announced its on the screen. No verbal announcements. I'm going to Ireland next Tuesday, I will try and remember to see the usual announcement time.

Normally says gate open for a while but this being a loganair flight will be low load factor.

On your flight they've opened the gate late, and then it's changed to closing due to the proximity of departure.

Gates normally open around 30 to 40 minutes ahead of departure

Departure time was 08.20 so only 30 mins before departure.
Yes it was a low passenger load - 19.

There were about 40 on the return flight this morning, very quiet in IOM and we appeared to do a very long downwind leg before turning finals on 27?
10 mins and we were out int arrivals.

I went to the IOM myself for a weekend a couple of years ago, the weather wasn't great there, and it was probably June. I did quite like it, particularly Castle Town. I also went with Loganair.

I flew from LPL for the first time on Wednesday morning down to Spain for the day to watch the total solar eclipse. I did originally book FR flights to Reus from LBA in the afternoon but started to worry about delays etc so found a cheap Jet2 flight departing at 06:15 Very impressed with the terminal and lay out at LPL. Walked out to the aircraft under the covered walkway, very similar to LBA where 3 Jet2 738’s were parked all together. Full flight down to REU with a flight time of 1hour 59mins. Would definitely use LPL again.

Glad you had a good experience. How was the eclipse, did you get a good view ?

I did indeed. Managed to get a good view back at the airport. Breathtaking. I’m booked to Djerba for the next one on the 2nd August 2027

Amazing Djerba, Tunisia. That's a place you don't seem to hear about much these days. Hope you enjoy it.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
