Great pics Ray, Thanks for posting ;-)

Paul deserves the thanks rather than me :)

Thanks for your help Ray i need to figure out how to make files smaller so i can add myself.

Paul

I normally just right click on the image, choose 'edit' and it takes me to a programme that does it, I think it's 'paint'. There is a resize option on there.

We can accept quite large files but for best viewing it's best photos are a width of no more than around 2000 pixels. Each upload can be upto 2MB which again is quite a large file. Most cameras will allow you to set the pxl size, but you may like to use slightly larger if you like to crop your photos to get a better picture. If you require any further assistance we'll be more than happy to help.

I also resize through paint although nearly all photo software will have an option to resize pictures.

great pictures guys, the airport is really starting to pick up now... looking good with both the 777 on the international pier...

Hi all,my first attempt at trying to upload pictures is not going at all well.
I am trying to resize the picture to 1280x850 pixels and 363.7kb.This is to stay within Aviadors' advice in his tips posted a while back.
Unfortunately when I try and upload the picture it is saying the file is too big.Not being a tech geek, computers are not a good subject for me,so any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

The image size is well within the limits as is the file size. What type of image file is it? Would you like to email me your image so I can see what the problem is?

All my photos are JPEG images.
Unfortunately I forgot the SD card was still in the laptop, and deleted the file.
I will be at BHX on Wednesday or Thursday so I will try again. Will let you know how I get on.
However right now I am pretty miserable as I had 1 decent pic of the South African A340,plus good ones of the BA 747s and the Iberia Express.

Well don't dispair, one way or another we'll get your photos onto the site. If there's a problem at this end we'll get it sorted. In the meantime have a play around using the media gallery "thread related images" category and try some test uploads.

I feel for you mate, I've had it happen.

It's awful when you've got some good pictures and they somehow get wiped.

There will be plenty more opportunities I'm sure.

I "lost" nearly 50 photos taken at FRA last year. All it says is "photo corrupted". Don't know what happened, other photos taken the same day are OK.

Thanks guys,I'll give it another go either tomorrow or Thursday.
I'll let you know how it goes one way or another.

Good evening

Well the good news is there's no problem at this end. I've just uploaded a photo using your permissions in the media gallery for BHX (i'll be removing it shortly as it's nothing to do with BHX or aviation)

Just checking the sites global permissions: We can accept up to 10 photo uploads in the following formats:

png; jpg; jpeg; jpe; gif

The size of picture uploads are NOT restricted although as I've said before there's no point uploading a file that is say 5000 pixels width that will be much larger than your average desktop, phone or ipad screen. The file size must be less than 2MB which again is enough to show off a really good picture in all it's glory.

We can accept videos 1 at a time of up to 60MB in the following formats:

avi; m4v; mov; mp4; ogg; webm; wmv

Hope that helps.

Yeah your pics just get better and better. You are a Pro

Also after just 2 days, Emirates A380 is getting cocky not using the whole runway :jawdrop:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
