QR 35 currently tracking South of Budapest due around 12:35 so will turn up with Emirates, Saudi and a TUI 788 from Palma should keep the baggage handling and immigration occupied.☺

All of the above in my post above due to arrive in a 40 minute window along with Aer Lingus, KLM, Lufthansa, Jet2, another TUI, (737) and two Ryanair. How many passengers is that?

Think it's a bit of a test for BHX, how times change 😴

plenty of cancelled flights, and long delays at the airport on Friday, weather releated, or ATC slot issues?

Cancelled Departures:-
ETDFlight NoToAirlineAircraft (Reg)Status
09:15KL1422Amsterdam (AMS)KLMB738 (PH-BCH)Canceled
12:25EI3643Belfast (BHD)Aer LingusAT76 (G-CMMK)Canceled
14:35EW4221Prague (PRG)EurowingsA319 (9H-EXQ)Canceled
16:30EI3275Dublin (DUB)Aer Lingus RegionalAT76 (EI-GPN)Canceled
17:45LH2511Munich (MUC)Lufthansa (Star Alliance Livery)A319 (D-AILP)Canceled
18:10LH957Frankfurt (FRA)LufthansaA20N (D-AINK)Canceled
19:50SI2273Jersey (JER)Blue IslandsAT76Canceled

I believe EI-GPN has gone tech at BHX, Lurfthansa/Eurowings issues?

with 2 Ryanairs & a SunExpress still to depart, the average flight departure time is almost 1 hour behind scheduled, European ATC slot issue, or delays with BHX handling??

we also have our based TUI 738 G-TAWD stuck in Corfu having a nice rest on the Greek tarmac after landing late Monday evening, awaiting repair no doubt! TUI 788 G-TUIA is also out of service, having been hit by lightning on Friday 19th August!

In less exciting news a TUI 737H diverted in last night from Teneriffe having missed the night closure at Bournemouth, bet that pleased the passengers who might wonder why they didn't land somewhere closer to Hurn.

Meanwhile the diverted United 772 due to depart to Heathrow shortly at e11-55

BHX does appear more accommodating/able in accepting diversions than most airports emergencies excepted of course.

I'm not sure it works like that, but interesting that the 1st planned alternate was BHX and not DUB, EDI, MAN or even CDG.

Generally airlines will designate "Commercial" alternates and "Fuel" alternates.

The former is typically another airport that the airline serves - i.e. somewhere they have contracts in place for ground handling, have other flights they can switch passengers to, etc

The latter is somewhere the aircraft just diverts to simply to "fuel and go" as was the case with this United.

Usually the commercial alternates are ranked in order of preference by the airline, whereas there'll typically be just one fuel alternate.

Ultimately the decision is up to the crew on the day to decide where to go depending on the exact situation.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
