Wizzair A321 from LTN and pseudo-KLM E170 from Southampton look to be heading in

A 2nd Wizzair A321 on its way after not attempting a LTN landing then going around at STN, followed by another that didn't attempt a LTN landing

Now a Ryanair 737.
earlier diversions from LTN were easyJet A320, Ryanair 737 and a Netjets
According to FR24 we had six Wizzair diversions from LTN but no details on BHX Movements blog??.
Can anyone confirm this was correct?.

Couple of flights that were in the hold diverting to Manchester.

Emirates on its way in shortly. Wonder if that will divert it'll go into the hold for a bit.

EDIT: AI appears to be moving unless its just FR24 having a glitch.

The periods of high wind forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday unfortunately look like causing cross wind problems at BHX.
It could be a tricky period all round.
No doubt it will lead to 'Watch plane struggle to land in crosswind at airport' videos on the BBC news.

No as much fun as 'Watch planes land in fog at Heathrow' video the other day that the BBC posted.

New Year's resolution: learn to love the BBC's News website team.

I shouldn't be too concerned. While strong winds are still forecast for New Year's Day, the expectation of snow for the northern part of England seems to have diminished. On Breakfast, Matt Taylor had the risk of snow on Wednesday extending to the north of the weather front which would bring rain to the Midlands and south. Louise Lear at lunchtime only referred to snow for parts of Scotland.
It's quite likely things will change again but I appreciate gales from the SW are not ideal for BHX or LBA.
I feared the worst for MAN when it was the NW gales but we got away with only losing a few flights.

Couple of Ryanair's diverting in from Bristol currently

FR2291 Alicante - EI-EVX - 737-8AS
FR750 (Op by Buzz) Prague SP-AKD 737-8AS

Can see there being a few planes chasing airfields to land, as the snow moves North tonight

Few more diverting in from Bristol

BY2665 Innsbruck G-TUMN B38M TUI (didn't even attempt to land at BRS diverted mid flight direct to BHX)
LS1802 Lanzarote G-DRTK B738 JET2
LS1828 Fuerteventura G-DRTV B738 Jet2
EJU7203 Barcelona OE-LKK A319 Easyjet

Manchester currently closed due to snow, First diversion in to BHX because of this, many more planes still circling

QR33 Doha A7-BHC B789

Another one come out the hold

VY8476 Barcelona EC-KLB A320 Vueling

Looks like quite a few of the large body Jets are choosing to divert over the Irish Sea rather than a UK airfield from Manchester Hainan, 2 x Aer Lingus, Norse and even a TUI 789 (which has just squawked 7700 over the Irish SEA).

Should make transporting of passengers back to Manchester interesting later today)

Also Etihad EY77 B77W diverted in earlier. A6-ETH.

Potentially a Juneyao B789 heading here B-20DT HO1661.

EK21 A388 has been holding for nearly 2 hours for MAN.
Surely heading to BHX or a London airport soon?.

Hopefully the Etihad that diverted in is a sign of them actually coming. The last few weather related conditions have forced upon them to divert to bhx.maybe they like us too much.😂 I’m still 100% satisfied they will be here in 2025

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
