Just watched BA4456 RTM-LCY do a go-around. FR24 reporting wind at 210 degrees 32 Kmh (although it doesn't mention any gusts) which I would have thought was not far off straight down the runway at LCY.

London City runway is 27/09. With wind at 210 I would expect runway 27 (wind 60 degrees off runway heading) to be in use and that would have a crosswind of just under 28 kph (15 knots). Not usually too high for commercial aircraft but perhaps with the steeper approach of London City that presents a challenge?

Noooooooooooo they have a cheek complaining about BHX and they had an airbridge connected to there shiny 789. Something most diverts dont get, they normally get shifted to the 80s stands.

Only a joke! Just seems that when an airline diverts in we get the stories twisted out of all proportion....Air Asia X, TAP....I seem to recall an issue with Qatar once. As far as I’m aware though no problems for Etihad!

Apparently Alaska Airlines are also annoyed, this was demonstrated by a recent diversion to Seattle when Birmingham was freely available

Too bad - with AA and UA gone and DL not interested surely Alaska and Hawaiian are the only options left for US service? I’m sure there’s demand for BHX-ANC/HNL?

It was nailed on apparently but during a previous divert only 170 bags of nuts were loaded and with 171 passengers sat on board chaos was sure to ensue. Inevitably the resulting brawl in row 17 means that Birmingham is now blacklisted from North American ops.

BHX should "cashew" in on this but some "monkey" spread this rumour. Next there will be a service to "Brazil". North American carriers will only pay "peanuts"
