I'm pretty sure the crew on this flight didn't care which airport they landed at.

Depends what the diversion is for.

If it's just a "fuel and go" or a medical diversion where they just need to offload the ill passenger, then yes generally any airport will do.

If the diversion will require any ground handling over and above the two scenarios above, all passengers to disembark or an engineering issue, then generally they'll prefer the aircraft to divert to an airport that the airline already flies to as they already have those services available.

I have a funny feeling that BrumX got his wish of an A330 home from LPA yesterday/today. Let's see what he has to report after the loong delay (y)

I believe that he was also hoping for a B737- MAX8. Looks like he got neither of his wishes. More importantly, I hope he had an enjoyable holiday.

Always the way when you wish for something. İt seems when you don't give a monkey's what you fly on, you get the good stuff. The best laid plans hey!
Yes this is true last time I flew to New York I wanted either a 77W to feel GE90-115B Power I got that thank you BA but wanted one of there Rolls Royce Powered 772's or a 77W on the way back though I knew it would be a 772 thanks FR24 but then I saw it was a GE90-90B powered one. Still haven't flown on any RR Powered aircraft all GE and a Dash 8 Q400 twice

We appear to have a storm refugee from LGW. Wizz Air WUK963 G-WUKO A321 PMI-LGW.

BA2849 A320 G-GATM Kos to Gatwick has diverted to BHX due storms.
From playback on FR24, both flights appear to have gone nowhere near LGW, but headed straight to BHX. Other flights have been shown holding, but now appear to be landing at LGW.

If that is Brum X's flight, it's showing as 'live' on FR24. It is 737- max8 G-TUMG, ETA 01:10.

Kevin

Yeah that was me, back home now with the 1st day back holiday blues ;-(

Had a great time and I will post an update later in the week with my video of the flight once I am back to normal, loooooooooooooooooool

Here is my aircraft just taxiing to stand at LPA yesterday evening.

Confused as to why this afternoon's Easyjet from Faro diverted to Luton, having circled around for quite a while. All previous and following aircraft made straight in approaches. There were storms about, but nothing anywhere near BHX.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
