Couple of Ryanair's diverting in also from Manchester on Flightradar24 currently

RYR2EE Barcelona EI-EMB
RYR24WL Prague EI-HGY

BHX has taken two diversions from East Midlands in the past 30 mins or so, EI-DCW operating FR9387 and EI-IHZ operating FR4459. The winds at East Midlands are currently only 10 degrees shy of a perfect crosswind for that airport (190 degrees at the minute) at 25 knots gusting 36 knots. Quite rare for winds to sit in that direction and its causing trouble elsewhere around the country too. For BHX its 180 degrees at 14 knots gusting 27 knots at the time of writing, which is still a crosswind but leans better towards runway 15 operations rather than any airports operating 27-09. Could be some interesting stuff happening today should the weather stay as it is or worsen.

I expect we may get more diversions as a Second Storm Gerrit has hit the UK, blowing heavily here in Darlaston, our wheelie bin which was emptied yesterday got blew into the road. I think a Neighbours Shed Roof Felt is on a fence of a house at the end of the carpark to them. I did notice 15 was in use Yesterday, to cloudy to see anything, they were mostly using the Tamworth approach to it as opposed the Black Country Approach although a few did use our side

Looks as if it could be a bit rough over South and East of UK (LHR etc tomorrow) even BHX and to a lesser extent MAN look a tad exciting for a while in evening with gusts 50+ mph at LHR/LGW/STN/BHX

Been quite a few into BHX already today and at a guess probably more. two in from EMA earlier on, the second of two Biz Jets from biggin hill is about to land and G-EUYW of BA is just lining up for 33 diverting from LHR

See the aircraft you flew down to ACE on aborted it's take off on the return and is still in Lanzarote. Another aircraft has pitched up and was six hrs late departing.....

A321 G-HLYF is still currently on the ground at Lanzarote after landing their over 33 hours ago, must have had quite a serious issue, if it aborted its take off from ACE, maybe engine issues?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
