Looks like no flights until at least the 5th

From the Emirates website - A friend is booked on flights to Brisbane on 11th, us on 16th - not looking good

Due to multiple regional airspace closures, Emirates has temporarily suspended all operations to and from Dubai, up until 1500hrs UAE time on Monday, 2 March

Customer advisory

If you are booked to travel before or on 5 March, your options are:

  • Rebook on an alternate flight. You can rebook on another flight to your intended destination for travel on or before 20 March. If you booked your flight with a travel agent, please contact them. If you booked with us directly, contact us.
  • Request for refund. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if you booked with us directly. If you booked your flights with a travel agent, please contact them.

Can’t see this stopping.Tbh I’m surprised Emirates have not just flown to Istanbul to drop off passengers for connections there and then they could Turkish can upgrade aircraft to send to bhx

Yes maybe. But the problem is leaving Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, not the flight thereafter. I suspect Saudia from Riyadh and Oman Air from Muscat will be seeing any uptick in bookings. Nevertheless first Emirates repatriation flights have arrived with more tomorrow. EY have again cancelled a number of repatriation flights including MAN.

Todays EK39 currently due in at 20:00 this evening (7/3/26)

Can't really tell from the videos but it would seem one end of one of the terminals at DXB got hit with a drone causing an explosion - but again, it could have just been the outskirts of the airport so I'm amazed any flights got off at all in all honesty.

Apparently it caused initial delays, but was soon back to normal.

Hi there all, regarding the current serious issues, with aviation around the world, would say that apart from covid, this is probably one of the worst records in aviation history, that has affected half the worlds population. But also caused significant damage to British aviation, which I hope will recover in the next few years, hopefully, better and stronger.

Todays EK39 then.

Was due to leave Dubai at 06:25 local, is currently still awaiting departure from Dubai however, EK39 now scheduled to leave Dubai at 22:30 local and head to Muscat where it will stay for two hours and then depart Muscat at 01:55 local and get into Birmingham at 06:25 tomorrow.

It also says passengers will change planes in Muscat.

EDIT: it has now been delayed again, 22:45 departure from DXB.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
