Yes departed with 468 pax

Air crew would be out of hours so coaching is the only option. Much easier from BHX. But I wonder why it diverted in the first place. Crew hours most likely.

There was an ambulance for a lad for the emirates flight via Dubai from Bangkok.The lad is in hospital in Q.E

Correct thats what the ambulance was for, hope he makes a speedy recovery. Seen his story on the news

Pretty sure the BA was medical as there was fire & ambulance on its stand too

The same as any of us,Ian can only go by what he has been told. All of us working at the Airport have different people who know different things. I myself was not believed by some people when I broke the news about Saudia starting up!

This could be why people are not commenting as often as previously within these forums.

Not according to workers from British Airways, was a fuel diversion, anyway it would of gone straight to Heathrow if it was medical and squawked 7700

Couldn’t both be true? Could storms mess up the controllers ability to prioritise the medical emergency?

It’s definitely a fuel diversion.

The Ambulance for Bhx yesterday was for a lad called ******* who was having an treatment for his health.I can send u the link on Messenger if you want me to for proof and evidence

one question if it was fuel why did it hold over Manchester would it not diverted strait in, if it was fuel it would have gone to either as room would have been found even if MAN was full which I tend think it was as there were a lot of wide body large aircraft already at MAN and probably all 3 A380 stands in use

Good question, as the hold was mininal, the flight crew were probably just accessing options, and also used the hold the decrease their altitude. Just looked on FR24, data has it turning north at 09:03 am and leaves the hold over central Manchester at 09:24, to which its altitude dropped from 37,000 to 15,575 feet.

BHX has 2 a380 capabale gates and Manchester currently has 5 a380 capable gates, BHX was probably seen as the best as its closer to Heathrow if the crew ran out of hours and the passengers needed bussing.

The pax carried on to LHR on the A380, excpet the one who was ill.
