As said in the BHX thread, I'm just sick of the speculation now, I wish they would get on with it!

While Norwegian seems to be a 'maybe here, maybe there' scenario, TCX are just getting on with it, and won't be anything 'trailblazing' left for Norwegian to launch with!

If they are going to launch them in say May 2017 then wouldn't they need to start the advertising and promotion now?

Not really, plenty of routes can launch off short lead in times.

MAN-MCT is due to start on 1st April confirmed by Oman Air yet not on sale yet.

Fingers crossed. Their LGW-JFK flight leaves about 1740.

Reported to be on sale very very soon and will be from £200.

Yes, a 1500-1700 departure would work brilliantly and differentiate from EWR. Nice that they are going in early. Is there a possibility of BOS?

How soon is 'very very soon'? Do you know of a specific timeline?

This could be announced as early as next month, but they could also hold out slightly as they may wait to make sure the aircraft has no delays.

The flight will be to Newark and I'm told this should be an afternoon flight, as the turn at EWR is only 1h 25m so catering for time change, should leave MAN around 1630-1730.

Perfect! This flight will benefit me greatly as I have family who live in Northern Pennsylvania. EWR is therefore the best airport in NY for me. The prices will most likely be cheaper than the AA to PHL I will travel on in MAR. However, hope this isn't the mantra of the Astra Zeneca people who use the AA service - unlikely as a lot would be paid for in J.

Interesting that DL have said they will seek to compete with Norwegian.

They obviously have a plan at MAN which changes the rules of the game slightly, but the US legacy carriers clearly need to change either their product or pricing structure in order to compete with and/or differentiate themselves from the coming storm...

Operating an extra Barcelona today.

LN-NGE positioned in from CPH. Flight runs to BCN as D88570/1 and back, then aircraft will position out to CPH again.

They will need to reduce their prices by quite a bit. DL is a lovely airline and I enjoy flying with them but they can be quite expensive in my experience. Only way I can see them changing is by reducing the price of the flights and start charging for luggage and food and maybe even inflight entertainment.

In practice, I'm not quite sure how this will happen at MAN.

Pretty much all DL coded flights are on VS metal, and the focus on new routes seems to be on "business" type destinations as much as leisure.

Perhaps the Florida/Carribean routes will be treated differently?

It has been reported elsewhere that Norwegian intend to launch some more short haul routes next year, one of which will be PMI, so that accounts for one of the 3 new airlines expected to launch MAN-PMI for next year.

They are looking at 39 weekly flights overall for S17 which is 22 more than S16.

Seen as the cat is out of the bag, to be announced soon:

Norwegian B737-Max from Manchester to Stewart/Newbourgh in upper New York State and Providence Rhode Island. SWF will be 4 weekly, PVD 3 weekly. Both routes to start June 1st. That with FLL later in the year (2 weekly B787-8 from Sept as the aircraft based in FLL) means Manchester will have 17 US destinations next summer.

Norwegian also announcing Palma 4 weekly and increasing Oslo to 5 weekly (OSL will have some B737-Max flights to rotate the fleet to Oslo). Tenerife will also increase from 2 to 3 weekly.

I'm a bit mixed about Norwegian, but, these are 3 unserved US routes to be served so it's worth a shot I suppose. An increase in passengers is always good, but, I'm going to treat all this with caution to begin with.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
