Rotorsport Gyrocopter G-CKLE entered the zone at Eccup(1425) to fly overhead and head back out to East.
Making use of the free airspace while the airport is closed
 
Nothing much flying at airport so may as well concentrate on interesting overflies today, and here is another-
Cirrus SR.22 N666AJ out of Wick at 13000' flew down from North, directly overhead LBA(1505) then turned left and headed Southeast.
The aircraft had departed Mc.Ghee/Tyson, Tennessee last Friday and routed via Burlington International, Goose Bay, Nuuk and Reykjavik. Presumbaly on delivery to new owners somewhere in Europe
 
US Navy C-130 just passed over us at 20,000 feet here in sunny Batley heading North West. Sitting here in the house, double glazing and all could still hear if!
 
About to pass overhead LBA descending out of 15,000' into Leeming - Swiss Air Force Challenger T-751(SUI 584)
 
Kuwait Air Force C-17 343(KAF 3201) is about to fly directly overhead (1025)
He is heading more or less Northerly descending out of 18,000', looks to be heading to Newcastle
Can hear it distinctly as I type this )
 
USAF C-17 93-0600(Reach 555) passed directly overhead(0953) at 33'000' heading Southeast. He is out of Bangor/Maine
 
Lots of US military activitiy this morning-
C-5M Galaxy 87-0041(Reach 303) passed just South of LBA(1020) heading inbound to Mildenhall
KC-135R 62-6533(Reach 816) passed directly over head 1045 climbing to 37'000' out of Midlenhall heading North
Gulfstream 5 N721MC(EJM 691) passing just South of LBA(1052) climbing out of 40'000' also out of Mildenhall heading Northwest
KC-135R 63-8017(Reach 818) is climbing out of Midlenhall(1055) taking the same route as "Reach 816" eta overhead around 1120
 
USAF KC-10 79-1947(Reach 833) directly overhead 1140 climbing out of 33,000' off Mildenhall, heading Northwest

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
