Watching Miss Marple last night (no comments please) there was a scene when they were supposed to be at London Airport, but I would put money on that they were the curved steps at the old Terminal.

Does anyone have any old pictures of the indoor viewing area and the other side of the monorail where the shops were.

I recall a little tiny shop which sold electricals and gadget type products

I can only think this would have been the enthusiasts shop run by Ron Swinbourn. He sold airband radios and magazines and books, postcards etc.
Sadly no photos of the shop personally.

I remember a little shop that sold model aircraft etc at the top of the escalator from the check in area? There was a door that led up to the viewing gallery next to it (or thereabouts). Does anyone remember the model of the old bi-plane that was hung from the ceiling?

I remember the old plane, but it was a mono-plane not a bi-plane.

I remember flying to Orlando with Britannia and having to stop to refuel in Maine. Them were the days :)
We went via Bangor Maine to Orlando a couple of times once intended with Britannia and once unintended with Air UK Liesure when we got diverted due to of all things blocked toilets! The wife and kids unimpressed but I was quite happy as we taxied past a row of B52s and some tankers, can't remember the type but was mid 1990's

We have been to Florida quite a few times and I would go again but wifey tells me to act my age the miserable so and so.

For those interested in nostalgia I can recommend this book by Mike Vines which came out in 1991. There are some excellent pictures from around the time that the shiny new Eurohub opened.

I'd happily post a few taster pictures but I don't want to cause any breaches of copyright. I've had no joy searching for Mike Vines and it seems as if Airlife Publishing last files accounts in 2001 with the company showing as dissolved, so I have no idea where to go for permission

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
