Good news day no doubt about it so being optimistic or maybe greedy hopefully must be looking at a winter programme to the Canaries as i think there will be a huge demand for winter sun covid provided.

Also while dreaming Berlin, Milan, Paris and maybe say Prague then half a chance of setting up a base but anyway promising news and it looks like Mr Bartons previous relationship with EasyJet at Luton is slowly but surely paying dividends

Will this see easyjet surpass Wizzair as the biggest operator with no based aircraft?

Absolutely fantastic news for the airport, was hoping Madrid would be in there too

Hopefully when normality returns, we will see much more from Easyjet and Wizz. A base from both would be the dream scenario. Certainly the best news for a long time for BHX. Too much excitement for one day!.

The schedule as it currently stands above. Interesting to see that on most weekday mornings there will be3 easyjet aircraft on the ground at the same time - even if only for 15 mins or so. Also it seems GVA is reduced from 3x weekly to 2x weekly but that still makes 63x weekly departures... Friday seems the most and Saturday the least....

The new routes announced will all be using away based aircraft with some interesting patterns!
Below is using a week in mid-August.

easyJet UK Bases
BFS (16x weekly)

EZY aircraft operating BFS-BHX-BFS (Daily)
EZY aircraft operating BFS-CFU-BHX-BFS / BFS-BHX-CFU-BFS (Th, Su)

EDI (13x weekly)
EZY aircraft operating EDI-BHX-EDI (Daily)

GLA (13x weekly)
EZY aircraft operating GLA-BHX-GLA (Daily)

I note that none of the patterns involve BRS-based aircraft - yet - but, according to a recent post on the BRS easyJet thread, a number of easyJet BRS routes including some to the sun have been reduced in frequency this year in peak summer.

Although CAA surveys down the years show that BRS doesn't take a huge number of passengers generally from the West Midlands, the post-pandemic scene could see a repositioning of air travel from regional airports

A BHX easyJet base looks increasingly likely and it might be that BHX's gain in this will turn out to be BRS's loss in the sense that the latter's base might not grow further or might even recede in size a bit. The fact that Jet2 is to open a BRS base could lead easyJet to think that Jet2 will take some of its BRS passengers, so why not grow at BHX and try to take some of Jet2's there?

Another thing about BRS is that if it loses its expansion planning application appeal it will be permanently capped at 10 mppa, a figure it was expected to have reached by the end of this year had the pandemic not intruded.

So the Orange glow will probably become much brighter in the West Midlands as (we hope) the pandemic dims.

I wonder if Easyjet and Ryanair will battle it out at the old Eurohub terminal now that Flybe have gone. It would make sense to have them both in this part of the airport.

Once restrictions are lifted, Weatherspoons will be a gold mine with all these passengers, he he he

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
