Easyjet have removed the planned Alicante-Birmingham flights from sale.

It comes after Malta was moved to the green list on Thursday (24 June) while the Balearic Islands were placed on the green watch list.

New routes, operating twice a week, from Bristol to Malta will start on 9 July and from Luton on 11 July.

The budget carrier will fly to the island up to 18 times a week this summer from four UK airports - Gatwick, Luton, Bristol and Manchester. Fares are available from £27.99 per person.

EasyJet will also fly to Palma from Gatwick, Luton, Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Liverpool airports from £28.99 per person.

Menorca will have up to 25 flights a week from Bristol, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester airports from £32.99 per person.

Ibizia will see 40 flights a week from five UK airports, including Gatwick, Bristol, Belfast, Luton and Manchester coming in at £32.99 per person.

John Lundgren, chief executive of EasyJet said: "We really want to get back to what we do best and connect people across Europe so we welcome these additions to the green list and in response we have put over 50,000 more seats on sale to new and existing routes to green destinations.

"This includes brand new routes from Bristol and Luton to Malta, meaning we now have around one million seats operating to current European green list destinations this summer.

"EasyJet is ready and able to ramp up and we look forward to playing our part in reuniting people with their loved ones or take them on a well-deserved break."

No thanks, I wouldn't even consider the Balearics right now, give it 2 weeks and it will be moved back into Amber, surely it is going to be more hassle than it's worth for all the airlines ??

And this is the problem with the approach the government has taken (although I suspect its deliberate).

Even when it is possible to travel, they've made it so unattractive to most people that they won't.

I totally agree Coathanger and I bet they relax most things on the 30th August. The follwing day is the official start of Autumn and the kids going back to school, it is one big plan to stop us from going on holiday this year.

But never mind Mr Hancock is ok to play the fiddle with his "new" girlfriend" and get away with it. Boris says it is the end of the matter, pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

Tbh if all restrictions are gone by the end of August, I can see a lot of people going away in September and October - wouldn't surprise me if October was back to almost normal passenger levels.

IF … restrictions are dropped the summer season will be stretched as far as possible with November flights …. The med can be nice this late but also it can be wet & windy !

Sorry to bump the thread but I was hoping someone might know if EasyJet is coming back this year with the newly announced routes? Was hoping with the recent travel updates they may have put them back on sale looking at how they’ve made lots of announcements at other airports. Seems a shame as they seem to flirt for a while with BHX then go quiet

Hi there. A number of their planned new routes have now been scrapped from BHX. ALC, PMI, FAO and AGP have now been removed and made worldwide connections.

Two new routes that are still planned to operate are Jersey and Corfu.

Jersey- Starts tommorow 11th July
Corfu- Starts 22nd July

Easyjet start the inaugural route today from NQY-BHX. On G-EZGI LGW based aircraft. Landed at 11:28 departed at 12:50. Also they start their inaugural JER-BHX service tomorrow as well.

Currently 13 booked inbound and 16 outbound on the Easyjet service to Jersey. Will be operated by G-UZHD as it stands.
