Birmingham: EasyJet Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
It wont show load factors on the app or website. It only shows people who have checked in online and already been assigned a seat and/or bookings where people have reserved a seat in advance.

One snippet I gleaned whilst on board is that two CEO's will be removed this winter from BHX and be replaced by two NEO'S ......finally!!!!

In the system from Oct 23rd according to Olton Pete 🙂

Is it too early for predictions for S26…..

Wish list thread linked below, feel free.

Rome the latest destination to become very heated with four airlines now on the route. I wonder if Ryanair will be more than 3x weekly for summer.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out over the next couple of years.

That's Rome.....will Kalamata follow.? Hope so, but you'd have thought other islands or SKG would come before it.

I'd have thought Skiathos, Santorini, Thessaloniki, Kefalonia and Zakynthos would have been higher up the list but if BHX have identified routes where they think more capacity is needed and are offering extra incentives then who knows 🤷‍♂️

I remember a few years back that Rome was completely unserved and had been for a very long time - we had to fly from MAN in 2012 as there was no direct flights. If I remember correctly Monarch began serving FCO and when they collapsed Jet2 took up the route. Crazy to think that in less than twelve months we’ll go from one carrier to four.

As for Kalamata we are flying out there next week! Very strange that it appears on the winter slot allocation as the season doesn’t usually start until May.

LGW S26 starts in March 😉

so we are looking at 11 flights to Rome FCO, and 3 flights to Rome CIA peak summer 2026, over 5000 seat a week - too many? Will it be another Madrid, when 4 airlnes competed on the route, and we eventually ended up with one operating?

I’d imagine Wizz are likely to blink first, the way they cut routes it probably wouldn’t have lasted long anyway.
I’d argue that Rome is a much stronger tourist draw than Madrid so hopefully Jet2, EasyJet and Ryanair can all coexist.

Any updates on when the two ceo easyJet aircraft swap to the neos only asking as it’s the 23rd tomorrow and I wants sure if it had been confirmed for tomorrow or not

Whether the 23rd October was a correct date or not, I do not know.
I was told by cabin crew that two NEO's were coming this winter. I would normally brush that off as Galley FM at play. However prior to boarding the flight I also heard a captain and first officer talking about it. Gotta be some truth in it I reckons.

Do you have to have special access into galley fm or is it pretty simple?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
