To think that in the 'Ridsdale Dream the Dream years, LUFC chartered Privatair B757's kitted out in luxury. Now they are piled into a Ryanair scheduled flight leaving LBA at about 0630 in the morning. Lets hope they all managed to sit together!!

I'm glad to see that the Dusseldorf flight wont be giving too much jip to Jet2, it's mid afternoon and not even daily. Hopefully it will open up the Weeze area and East Holland to tourists rather than poach business customers.

Another reason for Carcassonne being kept on through the winter is that it is also a ski destination. Not being far from Perpignan and the Pyrenees.

All entitled to our own opinion i guess WYIA, I have been to FUE before, and it was nice, however, the island is so different in different areas, some full of germans, some very dull but some more british themed and lively.

Does it come to a surprise to anyone that FR are not offering any proper ski routes this winter?

i would have thought LPA would be a good destination for them its a busy island (well it was 5 years ago) and i know quite a lot of people have villas etc out there and have to fly from manchester.

I would have thought so too Yorkshire - but Jet2 did it from LBA and then dropped it again, and although they have introduced it from MAN (at least), there has been no move to bring it back to LBA, so there must be a reason why neither Jet2 nor Ryanair are interested at this time.

I've visited all the main Canary Islands, including La Gomera, and Fuerteventura is my favourite (and my wife's), so much so that we've been there about six times. My least favourite is Gran Canaria.

Yer, well i love Lanzarote & i really need a regular low cost service from my local airport because i dj in gran canaria abit. I just hope next year they will introduce it. They serve LPA from several other UK airports.

Ryanair have confirmed that they will not be operating to MJV this winter.

Following last weeks out of court settlement between Ryanair & Easy Corp's Stellios - Mr O will be all smiles today. Stellios has told Easyjet if performance, company organisation and punctuality are not improved within 90 days - the easy corporation will withdraw the use of its name at the airline. Forcing them to remove all branding, change uniforms & repaint 100's of aircraft.

It comes after a newspaper published figures showing that less than 50% of easyjet departures have gone on time so far this summer.

Earlier this year, ryanair published a series of adverts showing Stellios with a big nose calling him Mr Late again & saying easyjet lied about its performance and refused to publish statistics unlike Ryanair.

Easyjet only pays £1 to use the easy name but it withdrawn it would cost them millions to de-brand alone, Easy Corp & Stellios sill own over 30% share in the carrier but Stellios walked off the board earlier this year- unhappy about the airlines growth plans and operation.

It could be that he launches an investor lead revolt.

Ryanair are going to be loving this, I wander how long easyjet will last at Doncaster. It would appear easyjet are really loosing it at the moment.

I mentioned Stelio's threat in the easyJet Airline Forum on Wednesday.

He's directly challenging the new CEO and the chairman to sort things out within ninety days, saying he's had lots of complaints from passengers and even pilots about the airline's dire staffing problems that lead to so many cancellations. Of course, ninety days time will mean we are in the autumn period with fewer flights so it should be achieveable.

easyJet plc maintains that Stelios does not have sole ownership of the brand name.

The reason Ryanair has dropped MJV for the winter is that the local government have declined to play ball with the airline over landing fees (apparently), so they have withdrawn all flights to the airport for the winter apart from those from Stansted and Dublin, so LBA is not alone by any means in losing this route. It is of course great news for Ryanair rivals such as Jet2.

Hi,

anyone know when the full summer '11 Ryanair timetable from LBA will be released?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
