The old proberb there's no smoke without fire. More than one news source has covered the story each saying Leeds Bradford; East Midlands and Newcastle are to be served. I guess it's the old waiting game once again but we're used to that aren't we!

Just been announced that Ryanair.com are increasing frequency from 7x to 8x weekly flights between Leeds-Bradford and Malaga this summer 2016 season. The extra flight will mean Ryanair offering a double daily service on Tuesdays. Looks like Ryanair are willing to take on the fight against both Jet2.com and Monarch!

PS: I also bet fellow forum member "Snowman1" will be happy as his never had so much choice to choose from on the Leeds - Malaga route what with Thomson Holidays taking seat allocations on the Sunday Monarch schedule as well.

is that going to be a 'W' leg, or is that knocking another rotation off our based aircraft duties?

No its not using a LBA based aircraft as no rotations have been dropped. Its an extra flight and rotation will be using a Malaga based aircraft as follows.

FR2782 = Malaga 08:50 Leeds 10:55 / FR2781 = Leeds 11:20 - Malaga 15:25

Up until today Ryanair was planned to be 73x weekly flights this coming summer 2016 but as things stand we are now up to 74x weekly rotations.

Ryanair have started to upload there winter 2016/17 schedule with new bases been added due to more aircraft been delivered from Boeing this year. Most UK bases are seeing new routes been added and flight frequency increases on existing services including from Liverpool, Bristol and Manchester. So far from Leeds/Bradford we have Dublin on sale, so as usual I guess we will be last to know and see what might happen.

Ryanair have now also released winter 2016/17 flights between Leeds-Bradford and Krakrow which shows an increase from 3 to 4 weekly.

So apart from Dublin and Krakrow routes no other flights are available yet. it seems for some reason the release of Ryanair's full winter 2016/17 programme from Leeds-Bradforda is lgging behind everywhere else?

Jet2 Still promoting their 10% off winter 2016/17 flights. I dont remember the offer running so long in previous years. I booked on release so paid a lot less then the currant price. Wonder if this is delaying there release.
I am flying on the same march and April dates next year and Jet2 a lot cheaper next year then I paid for this years flights, maybe fuel making a difference, but note Wille Walsh stated last week IAG group buys its fuel futures 3 years in advance, not sure Jet2 or Ryanair position.
Will be interesting to compare Ryanair to Jet2, not on todays prices, but release date prices.

The Ryanair Winter schedule out of Belfast International does not include LBA - or any other UK airport other than what they are already operating. All the new routes operated by the 3 based aircraft are abroad, so once again it appears the rumour mill was wide of the mark. Another anti-climax!

Ryanair will operate some extra flights to Alicante and Malaga whilst routes to Venice Treviso, Murcia, Palma and Faro will restart early over the next 2 weeks leading up to Easter holidays. (Before the summer 2016 schedule officially starts on Sunday 27 when the clocks go forward an hour). Some flights are operated by the spare 3rd Leeds based aircraft whilst others are operated by non based aircraft.

Dose anyone know if Mr Oleary or any of the other Ryanair Management are currently in Leeds. As I see there Learjet, M-ABJA is currently parked on stand 1.
Usually the Learjets transport crew members around the bases, but it could be the case that some of the management are there. I hope Ryanair retain a strong commitment to LBA despite their huge expansion at that other airport just down the M62 ;)

With all the bases Ryanair have they are the only airline realistically who can offer flights during the periods that are quieter at Leeds.

Ryanair have this morning put all there exsisting Leeds winter routes on sale for next winter 2016/17 season.
No new routes have been announced but plenty of rumours floating around, Adding fuel to that is the fact Ryanair's management did in fact visit Leeds last week.

Good news is that we are seeing extra flights been added to Alicante, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gdansk and Krakow whilst the Faro route will operate year round once again.

Thanks Lbaspotter that's great news. So we're going to be seeing extra flights on five routes. As we know, over the years the winter offering has been poor to say the least but at least now the airport is starting to show signs of a turnaround. Something it needs to do if it's going to squeeze 4m through the doors.

I have it from a good source that Someone from Ryanair's mangerment was onboard.

The last time I saw the main man, he was prancing around the check-in hall with virtually no clothes on. Haho who cares though if we get some more routes out of it.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
