Miserable and soaking wet here in Leeds. Looking at the weather radar it's set to continue for the rest of the afternoon.

The second wave of torrential rain in a month is starting to affect us here in Leeds. It's pouring down with rain and I've just heard it thunder. Are we ever going to see summer this year???

Well, up here in Scotland, it has rained on and off all day every day for over a week now.... as a random person in the street said to me today "will it ever end!" I know we get a lot of rain up here, but this year seems to be worse than most

Not had any rain here in Brum (although it's forecast for today) but the temperature has definitely dropped, had the heating on for the first time yesterday morning.

That explains the closing of PIK for a time yesterday afternoon due flooding.

We got the heavy rain in the early hours of this morning. Bloody cold damp and miserable, hey that must be the UK!

The weather forecasters are predicting snow in some areas over night, mostly over the Pennines, Scotland and Cumbrian but with some snow at lower levels in places.

No snow here in Leeds yet but it's currently minus -3'C.

What a cracking day. At 21:00 this evening it was still showing as 22'c in Leeds city centre. I think it reached around 29'c here today.

It's no wonder the forum is so quiet as I am sure most are making good use of their BBQs.

Filton weather - the one I use for the Bristol area - didn't get above 23C today. Bristol was supposed to be 26C maximum.

The day was still sunny and warm though albeit with a slight breeze that wasn't evident at all yesterday where I was around Bristol.

...barmy and looking at the weather forecast it's set to stay hot and sunny for the rest of August. Can't complain though because it's been years since we last had a decent summer.

On a negative note, the forum (along with many other similar sites) has been very quiet.

It's been very warm - I call it hot as I'm not a great one for temps much above 22-23C - in the West Country for over a week.

Filton weather showed max 29 on Sat, 28 on Sun and a 'freezing' 26 today.

If the weather does go on like this across the country right through the main summer holiday period I wonder if it will impact in any way on the flights to the sun spots, although I suppose most have been booked by now.

Like Aviador I've noticed that aviation (and other) message boards have been quieter than usual since the hot weather arrived.

...surprisingly warm. Too bad I have to be at the office when it's so warm and nice outside. And supposedly the weather is going to stay warm and beautiful. I will be on a business trip the upcoming weekend and though I am looking forward to the flight itself and the airport transfer via this company, I find it hard to believe that I am going to leave the UK and there'll be worse weather in my destination, in Copenhagen... doesn't happen too often.

Car was showing 33 degrees on the way home, a big contrast to when I left this morning in grey murk. Long may it continue :drinks:

Well as the nights draw in and we start to get some interesting weather once again I've decided to resurrect this thread.

So far tonight it's rain/sleet at the moment where I live with a forecast for the white stuff later on. We'll see.

....bloody cold, damp and miserable but of course thankful we are all alive.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
