I must have missed that Alitalia flight.

I love Czech Airlines 'City of Magic' Livery, one of the best we see I think?

Incidentally I spoke to someone last week who'd flown on Evelop from BHX and she said they were excellent. She described it as 'one of the best flights I've ever had'.

I was wondering what the Alitalia flight was for?
Too early, I think for school exchange trips and His Holiness the Pope is not visiting.

Alitalia charters have been visiting around the beginning of July for a couple of years so my guess is that they are in fact student exchange flights.

Events like this are usually accompanied with " expect a late landing clearance". It happens all the time at many busy airports, but I suppose that comes as a surprise at BHX .

No need to be facetious Carl.

It seems normal to me. Up here in Leeds we're obviously not as busy as say BHX or MAN or even BRS for that matter but with no parallel taxiway spotters who frequent the perimeter are fairly used to seeing aircraft land only moments after a departing aircraft. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a daily occurrence but it definitely happens regularly. ATC will normally say something like "expect late landing clearance". I think I've heard "land after" possibly too. You guys are too soft.

Back to the adult conversation.

I don't see it as anything unusual. Purely guess work but even if the Thomas Cook plane was roughly over the end of the runway when Ryanair touched down there would still be a separation of over a mile.
