Good to see some 747's in from London Airways. What must they think of BHX? At least 3 wide bodied planes from a premium carrier fly out of BHX every day, and even this didn't meet demand so they had to upgrade the lunchtime service to an A380. London Airways doesn't even have a slice of this pie!

This is what happens when you limit your offering to a corner of the UK, where admittedly 20m or so people live, but the other 45m people don't!

Gosh Ray, I was surprized to see her using less than the full length to start from. Was this because of higher than usual lift from the strong wind? The roll was only about 27 secs.!

It looks like it only got to the start of the old Runway 33 start and took off, LOL

Mr Kehoe said it was due to the design of the wings.

Whatever it is it's blooming impressive, especially considering that it was full.

Looks like a 707 on steroids, have never liked the extra set of centre wheels. Went to South Africa on one but had seats at the back where the fuselage tapers, most uncomfortable flight ive ever endured.

I remember there being talks of runway inspections after an A380 takeoff; well at 5:00 mins, right hand side of the video, watch the No.1 engine.

Very interesting video! Unfortunately BHX doesn't lend itself well to these kind of videos as it's not busy enough but it's a great idea.
