Hi there Kevin Farnell, my apologies to you if I got the wrong date....Andyc
Hi Andrew, please don't feel any need to apologise.
I hope I didn't come across as critical in any way. That was never my intention.
If I have done so, then it is me who should apologise.

And please, call me Kevin. 'Kevin Farnell', although my username, seems so formal.

Kind regards

Kevin

Hi there Kevin, the generation that I grew up in, you spoke and treated those people with respect if you didn't them, until you got to know them...Andyc

As Kevin has pointed out the fees paid to the airport would be confidential and never in the public domain, what I would add is that Ryanair and Wizz Air are two of the shrewdest operators in the business and both serve Birmingham so things can't be that bad :)

I guess there is also the option to offer incentives for certain routes, those either not served or in need of more capacity.

Walked past the Manchester shop in Brum twice today, it is the busy Great Western Arcade, balloons and flags everywhere. At 13.00 & 13.30 there was not one person in the shop just a girls on her phone looking board stiff !

When i heard about this i thought to myself i dont know what impact that is going to have. Im not being funny but it is located in Birmingham's professional quarter and im sure these people are educated enough to know the merits of Manchester airport and the kinds of places you can fly too from there. MAN would of had a far bigger impact paying to plaster there image on the 3 massive New street station LED screens where thousands of people every day walk past. #just saying

Liverpool CEO just resigned. Heading to BHX?

http://www.northernpowerwomen.co.uk/andrewcornish -
"Prior to his current role, Mr Cornish held the position of Chief Customer and Brand Officer at Aer Lingus, responsible for all customer facing activity and a member of the Group Executive Board.

Mr Cornish previously held the position of Chief Executive at MDL, Europe's largest owner and operator of marinas, based in Southampton."

More Dublin and flying boat operations perhaps?

Reading the link provided by hay677 what stands out is his position as MD at Manchester Airport group with responsibilities for infrastructure. We have had the man who woke the airlines up to BHX.Now they are here we
need someone to make it work.

Unfortunately I think Liverpool have lost quite a few services recently including Aer Lingus which given one of his previous positions was with the airline is rather ironic.

One way to solve some of the infrastructure issues at BHX would be to lose some routes but we don't want to do that.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
