Quick update on the current state of the nation at STS.

Eight aircraft in including the semi resident three Wedgetails and the Hans A332 plus a Jet2 737H, a TuiFly 737H, the 737Max of ACG Leaseing along with the recently arrived Air Canada A321 which I believe is in the Star Alliance colours.

Ryanair seem to have gone quiet so possibly thats our lot for the time being.

All info from Ian's excellent site.

Intriguing, but where did the lorry get the GEN X B787 engine from?
I would love to know too.
I suspect an engine change for a TUI 787 most likely. As they are the only UK airline to use these for their B787s.
BA and VS have RR Trents.

I noticed a hoist ,cherry picker and TUI vans around G-TUIL, parked on the remotes today.May or may not be a coincidence. .

The ACG max has been therefor months & engineless - for such a new aircraft
Arrived will a winglet missing too. Hurry to get out ?

G-TUIJ kicking around anywhere.

Rumours an Air Canada 787 due into BHX, for STS, brand new, was thought late evening but hasn't moved from Charleston USA yet..
According to Ian's post in the Movements and Heads Up thread, it's due on Thursday evening -

The Air Canada 789 C-GWUU currently showing departing Charleston at 07:40 arriving BHX at 19:47 both local times.
I’m sure there is a good reason & I’m pleased they are coming to BHX… but … it does seem a bit odd for a brand new a/c to fly from the factory to us especially as it’s home is in Canada & as everyone else has said how great it is to have this facility here, it’s great to see such a variety

C-GWUU currently showing as 20.00 arrival, before sunset so hope someone can get a video of it. If anyone does please post a link in the video thread so we can all enjoy the spectacle 😍

There seem to be many reasons which could be having specialist equipment fitted or mods, it sem that Air Canada may have a deal with STS as that is 4 aircraft now between BHX and MAN. I know that one of the A330 was to repair some damage and the other needed some work doing which has involved ordering in parts which is taking quite a while. how long has the 787 been sat in states before delivery as it may need a check to be done. It may just be that it is cheaper in UK for work at present also 787 work has been a speciality same as A330 has at MAN which explains the Thai Air Force A330 due next week

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
