Totally forgot about Air Anglia which was swallowed up by the formation of Air UK - so almost 4 decades indeed! Good going..

I recall the various other aircraft Air Anglia & Air UK operated including the dreaded Shorts! Unpressurised and terrible in bad weather...not to mention very slow lol

Yes PH-KZK did the honours ... personally I miss the Fokker 100 but its still the end of an era.

Sad to see it go but time to celebrate too and embraer-ce ;) the future.

Still 4 a day, all E190- offering 400 seats to Amsterdam. An upgrade of aircraft I am sure regular passengers & the airport will be happy about. Sadly, so far - nothing in terms of PR from the airport.

They announced the short lived aircraft change on the Glasgow route - quite astonished they have not announced anything about this??

Well today I got to get onboard the new aircraft in the turnaround, what a fantastic machine! Very clean, very smart, and very friendly crew! The loads are looking very very healty, am afraid I can not give exact loads as this is a public forum. The crew where saying how good it is to now have two galleys rarther than just the one on the F70, also had a nosey in the cockpit at the invite of the captain, vey smart and some fantastic technology in there, if you get the chance, I would 100% recommend a flight!

Im sure it is fine to post loadings, given they are publicly available via the CAA at the end of each month, and usually airlines are happy to give away that sort of information. They even give them away in public press releases too.

No one has mentioned the Air Anglia Piper Navajo' Chieftains that were used on the Leeds-Gatwick service, or the Bandeiranties. As far as the Embraers go, they are nice planes, but are basically 'spam cans' The fokkers were built to last.

It is indeed the end of an era. We have had Fokkers scheduled to operate into LBA almost continually since the early 1960's. The first airline to operate them on a regular basis was Aer Lingus who replaced DC3's with F27's around 1963/64 I think. They were later replaced by Viscounts.

Should be coming into LBA on one for the first time soon. The past few LBA-AMS trips for me have been on full or almost full F70s, so the extra capacity is most welcome.

The only "downside" is that C pax don't get the 'seat reserved for your personal space' like on the F70s. first world problems..

Haha well you have to make some sacrifices  and user001 that is true well today's figures where 66 on the first inbound and full on the second outbound!

There isn't a problem as any passenger can count (or ask cabin crew) as I have done myself many times.

Also we saw a Fokker 70 Divert from Humberside yesterday morning... the Fokkers are not going without a fight haha.

Flew in on Saturday evenings' KL1551 E190 - my first flight into Leeds on one. Long taxi half way across the Netherlands, but a good flight over.

Think I ovearheard the load was 85 - certainly didn't look to be many free seats. Suprised me a bit, as I'd always expected the saturday evening flight to be one of the quieter ones.

Since the introduction of the E190 I would say that the vast majority of flights have had a passenger figure greater than 74 (a full Fokker 70). Indeed many have been full

hi bianchio16
good news for KLM I wonder where the extra pax have been hiding.
thanks for the info.

KLM increases capacity at Leeds Bradford Airport

KLM Cityhopper has increased its capacity at Leeds Bradford Airport with the introduction of a new larger aircraft, the Embraer 190, on its regular services to Amsterdam Schiphol, offering an additional thousand seats each week.

The Embraer 190 is more fuel-efficient, has lower carbon emissions, and offers greater passenger comfort alongside more room for carry-on baggage.

The Embraer flies faster and offers greater capacity than the Fokker 70 which previously serviced the route, increasing the maximum load from 80 to 100 per flight.

Tony Hallwood, aviation development & marketing director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We welcome the introduction of the Embraer 190 at Leeds Bradford operating to Amsterdam Schiphol.

"KLM is one of the longest established airlines at LBA and this new aircraft will soon become a firm favourite for business and leisure travellers alike.”

Warner Rootliep, AIR FRANCE KLM general manager for the UK and Ireland said: "At Air France KLM we are always listening to passengers’ demand and investing towards the most efficient and environmentally friendly possibilities to increase our capacity.

"With the introduction of the new Embraer 190 for our Leeds Bradford Airport passengers, we are delighted to be able to increase the capacity of our Leeds – Amsterdam service, which is a very popular route.

"We hope that enhancing our services from Leeds will result in more passengers using this local airport as their departure point to travel the world."

EMB.190 PH-EZU(KLM73E) just carried out a practice CAT III approach onto 32. Hope it works this time!!!

Flew to AMS this past weekend on the new E190 service. Really nice aircraft, plenty of room.

Was on the very first outbound on Saturday. Didn't look to be many spare seats, I'd say load was around 90.

Home on the late Sunday evening. I saw one spare seat (in business), so load of 99.

KLM cityhopper has begun the process of repainting its fleet in the new style livery now that aircraft are afforded more ground time during the winter.

PH-EZA - the first Embraer 190 delivered is the second to get the new look and now the first Fokker 70 PH-KZM is sporting the new paint work. The design gives the Fokker 70 a new lease of life and its very eye catching!

The fleet now comprises 28 Embraer 190's & 19 Fokker 70 and most of the fleet should be in the new look livery by the end of Spring 2015.

Of note, KLM was supposed to announce the planned replacement for the Fokker 70 last month - however, Strikes at Air France & a CEO Change at KLM has held this process up. An announcement is now due in the coming months & KLM still plans to operate the Fokker 70 until 2018.

Looks like KLM are operating the Christmas day flight today, does anybody have an idea what the load would be like on it?

Imagine it will be quiet up at LBA for anyone checking in for the return to AMS.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
