There is another VC10 fly past planned for next Wed the 25th some time between 10:45 and 11:15 when it travels from Brize Norton to Bruntingthorpe.

In other news SAS are now using Blue1 717's, the first visit for BHX is planned for this Monday (23rd) on the morning Copenhagen service. BHX has seen the Turkmenistan 717 delivery flights pass through but I think this may well be the first ever 717 passenger flight?

All subject to change of course.

It's a smashing aircraft, we used to see them frequently up here at LBA doing the various airlifts, usually two or three on the deck together.

Just a reminder that there will be a flypast of the RAF VC10 tomorrow as she travels from Brize Norton to her final resting place in Bruntingthorpe. It's expected some time between 10:45 and 11:15 and should be quite a sight from Sheldon Country Park.

Slightly late due to the weather but RAF VC10 K3 ZA147 did a 'touch and go' at 15:35.

ABQ226 heading towards BHX. No arrival time available yet.

Meanwhile, Air India is over an hour late.

LZ-ABR has been in and out regularly over the last week or so. Apparently it was painted in that scheme for a part in the film The Expendables 3.

A Star Air 767F was in early this morning and should be passing through for the next few Mondays due to runway works at EMA.

How is BHX able to handle it, when its own runway is closed overnight Mon-Fri?

The runway is only closed Monday evening to Friday evening/Saturday morning so Sunday nights through to Monday mornings it's open as normal, these are arriving in the early hours of Monday.

Cheers Ray! Do you know the reasons for the visit?

It's on it's way to Bruntingthorpe for scrappage but as the weather is bad it'll be at Birmingham till it improves.

Yeah she went to EMA in the end. I wouldn't have seen it as I've been at work all day but there were a few disappointed people, not too far up to EMA if you are desperate.

B757-200 G-MONJ positioned in earlier.

Just out of interest, where did the info come from about the Qatar? Flight path seems to indicate it was always EMA bound, no deviation to BHX or Bruntingthorpe, just the usual EMA descent and arrival?

From an FR24 point of view, it certainly didn't seem a last minute decision to go to EMA anyway.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
