I have seen recently that the Lufthansa Group are looking to scrap 50% of flights due to the virus.

I saw a report last week saying up to 150 aircraft in Lufthansa fleet will be stood down while virus rages!.

Dusseldorf like Brum is an industrial area and going back in time I'd bet its the oldest link between BHX and Germany.

I have always known Dusseldorf even before I knew what Germany was, BHX without a link to DUS is unthinkable!

I'm not sure how true it was, but when BA operated BHX-DUS I was told it was one of BA's top 10 most profitable routes.

I know BEA ( later British Airways) operated Dusseldorf in the mid 1960's with Viscounts daily. Many years before Frankfurt started.

Frankfurt started in the 1970s with British Midland Viscounts who also started Brussels at the same time and if my memory is correct originally the service to Frankfurt was via Brussels but became separate routes quite quickly. British Airways took the routes over with One Elevens in a route swop with BMA.
