Qatar continue to use various equipment types. Although subject to change, another 773ER due in on Saturday. An A333 scheduled the following Saturday. Must be quite a dilemma for anyone booked in J. Imagine having your seat assignment changed due to an equipment change. 😂

Their was a 351 damaged last week the engine was hit by I believe to be a vehicle
773 brought in the next day. A C17 of the Qatar airforce brought in a new engine. The 351 departed 2 days late at night, unknown if it had any passengers, the C17 left the morning after.

My understanding is that one of the two air bridges used connected with and damaged the engine casing. The ground handlers Swissport staff are responsible for connecting air bridges to aircraft. It’s also very rare for EDI to use double bridges on a single aircraft. An A351 is longer than a 359. The benefit of double air bridges is primarily to expedite the boarding process.

As previously reported, QR are using an A333 on tomorrows service. In-bound J is sold out. Outbound is sold out in economy and only 2 seats available in J. It would appear the route continues to be very busy.

A very rare visitor to EDI scheduled for next Tuesday. Schedule showing Qatar using a 772LR. This aircraft type is normally used by QR on certain American and Australian routes.

December 2022

QR upgrading equipment on various dates on run up to Xmas. 787 replaced with 359’s and 351’s on certain dates due to high demand.

QR have replaced 788 with 359’s from Wednesday Thru 31st December. They’ve also added extra flight on 27/12. 2 x flights on this day, Demand must be extremely high.

Qatar increasing to 10 x weekly from 2nd February 2023. Double daily on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. 788 showing as the operating aircraft. This is subject to change and most likely will.

S23

Summer schedules confirmed. Going double daily from 1st July. Aircraft types subject to change.
Some confusion about Qatar’s S23 schedules. Booking system now loaded with only 10 x weekly and not double daily - 14 x P/W. 14 weekly was loaded yesterday but has been changed. Time will tell what turns out to be the final schedules.

W23

Increased from planned 10 x weekly to double daily, year round. Great news for EDI. Demonstrates how well the route is performing.

QR W23

Qatar making alterations to operational aircraft in W23. 788 will continue to operate both daily flights up to 1st December. A359 on both services from 2nd December. All subject to more change.
Changes currently being made to aircraft operating early September. Expect 773/351 to operate on certain dates. Students traveling to Scotland for start of university terms.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
