That's not bad at all Seasider. I recall waiting in the region of 20-25 minutes to taxi to stand at Barcelona (BCN) a couple of years back.

Well, this thread has been dormant for quite some time but this has just been posted on the Leeds forum which might be of interest to some DSA forumers.

Maybe not the type of "basing" Sheffield was after but it's a start.

It looks like Balkan wont be offering DSA for S19, with all other airports loaded. Extra flights for Humberside (goes from 1 to 2x weekly) and a new weekly service to MME also.

Does this mean DSA has lost out to these airport? Maybe TOM could look at squeezing in another frequency to BOJ?

I can't see KLM doing it with HUY/LBA being so close so it would have to be a British airline and the only one is easyJet.

Can't see it either be it KLM or a home airline what could help the airport grow in another direction that it hasn't at present is more expansion from Wizz and a more vibrant ramp. Next year won't see things return to normal but something like a normal year. 2023 or 2024 will be a key year for DSA and seeing where Wizz lie at the airport then hopefully some other airline may just be tempted to grace the DSA ramp.

Depending on how Wizz Air UK do with the routes and if demand is really high other airlines like Ryan Air or Easyjet might re think about flights from DSA.

Its a shame we didn’t get a Easyjet Belfast service when they announced LBA & EMA.

As DSA will be overlooked by another airline from its Dublin hub.
My question is why does DSA struggle to attract any airline to operate routes as Dublin?

I'm guessing people will tell you the airport is too close to East Midlands and Manchester airports but certainly as the airport gradually builds up its own traffic momentum there will be an ever increasing desire for airlines to relook at serving Doncaster. The same could be said for other airports in a similar position.

Has DSA-DUB been served previously ? Ryanair ??

Yeah the airport is close to EMA / MAN and LBA but the routes we’ve had before from Flybe where always popular for example Jersey so the demand is definitely there.

Id like to see;

Logan Air operating flights to either Dublin / Jersey or Belfast or
Easyjet operating flights to Amsterdam / Belfast or Geneva.

Seeing as multiple airlines have tried Dublin and never stayed on the route very long you can only assume it doesn't make money and never will. I can't see it ever coming back the sad reality is DSA and city routes is a virtual no go.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
