Reports in Travel Trade Gazette and Travel Weekly, that Ryanair are to increase flights from 20 UK airports for the winter, so CWL must be in with a chance of something extra from Ryanair.
Finger's crossed! Maybe the Dublin route will get more frequency like October has?

Considering it’s only Dublin they serve from CWL in the winter, unless they put on some W pattern flights from other destinations it’s hard to see what Ryanair will do at CWL. I am however hopeful.

If there is to be extra flights for Cardiff then i'd suspect it would be extra frequency on Dublin unless they reopen their Canary island bases.

I cannot see them adding much more this winter other than, as you say, maybe some extra DUBs. I guess the reason they are willing to add more DUBs is the opening of their new runway allowing for more flights and less restrictions.

I'd be very surprised to see anything "new" added for winter at this stage, but am always happy to be proved wrong...

Looks like FAO is being loaded for Winter 22/23 (full season, excluding Christmas Day) in the App at 2 x weekly:
  • Wednesday - 14:20 FAO > 16:55 CWL / 17:20 CWL > 19:55 FAO
  • Sunday - 07:15 FAO > 09:50 CWL / 10:15 CWL > 12:50 FAO
Lets hope this hangs around for S23 - and they add AGP back...

:)

That is very good news! I’m sceptical about FAO during the winter from CWL but if anyone can make it work; FR can!

Certainly looks like the CWL-FR relationship is continuing to grow! Fingers crossed for more in Summer 2023!

There is plenty of scope for them to expand at CWL, let's hope there's more to come from them.

I forgot to add that it was the intention of WIZZ to operate Faro this winter, so perhaps FR has seen the route as an opportunity for themselves.

Looking at the website although not onsale the flights are loaded but just say Sold out. So hopefully they'll go onsale soon and i expect Ryanair will use it as PR against Wizz, it'll be very interesting to see how the route does at short notice.

Fingers crossed it is a definite go on this route for the winter. Ryanair should certainly be able to get some bums on seats to Faro.

Excellently quick, however factually incorrect as it’s not a “new route” - FAO has been served for many years from CWL (not always by FR), however not always through winter time…

Great news nonetheless!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
