December details from BHX 👍

View attachment 29965
Thanks for posting this Karl C. Its good to see that the BHX marketing dept seem to have upped their game and posted a lot more news items on the web site in December with 10 news stories which is the highest for some time. They have been more active on social media (your screenshot is Twitter - if we can use the old name :) but surely limits the potential target customers. BHX need to get their messages out to the target markets and raise the awareness on the BHX offer

I thought I saw it on Facebook 🤔. I do use X though too. Even though I only posted it a little while ago, I can't remember lol. Probably as I've just woken up from an afternoon nap 😂

Hi there all, a very happy new year to everyone on the forum, after checking last night for last year's passenger numbers, I calculated it to 11, 579,920.00, is this number correct for last year's passenger figures, because if it is, then that's an incredible turnaround since COVID ended. So then Birmingham Airport this year would only need less than 500,00 passengers to hit 12 million passengers for this year and once easyJet starts can only increase further above and past 12 million plus passengers for either this year or next.... AndyC

From the figures posted in this thread by Ian (and one month by Matt995), I get -

[EDIT] - Using the 'sum' function in Microsoft excel gave me 9,488,073. Manual calculation gave 11,483,725, so not too far off your calculation, Andrew.

Why would you west to go east?
I thought Dublin have increased because of Irish connections flights.
Bring back aer lingus to cork at least.
Ryanair should operate Londonderry
I would think any passengers connecting via Dublin would be tiny given the only realistic flight would the early mornining Aer Lingus departure, you'd be very brave to risk Ryanair for a long haul connection. The vast majority of passengers would travel down to LHR for the USA and indeed worldwide. Heathrow has something like 120 direct daily flights to the US even in winter

BHX connecting flights are very much in the hands of KLM,AF,LH, and the likes of Emirates Qatar etc.and we appear to be doing very nicely.

Interesting comment from a friend who has just returned from Turkey and that so many people are
over there for dentistry or body work not holidays which is a bit scary after all the bad reports on TV about it

That was what I always wondered when the MAN service started but does not appear to as they are different markets from Turkish Airlines and I would expect them to be daily within the year

What about Aegean airlines flights to and from Athens?
You could try working it out for yourself. Ian F and Matt995 have given a breakdown of monthly passenger figures for each BHX route. All you need to know, is how many seats were available in that month. Divide the total passengers by that number (not forgetting that there are both out and back flights). Multiplying by 100 will give you a percentage load factor. It's quite easy for a route that has only one operator, but difficult if more than one.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
