Manchester is recovering better than most UK airports pax wise

2022 = 1,465,390
2021 = 94,577
2020 = 943,219

2014 = 1,435,846
So back over 2014 figure.

Heathrow

2022 = 4,196,820
2021 = 541,703
2020 = 3,107,151
2019 = 6,527,571
1994 = 4,146,951
So just beat March 1994 !

Birmingham

2022 = 566,647
2021 = 17,885
2020 = 388,491
2019 = 903,425
2018 = 879,517
2017 = 904,814
2016 = 831,174
2003 = 610,485
2002 = 559,316

So recovering nicely but March was still at 2002 level !

April has now come to an end and I have just been finishing off my logs for the month.

According to my figures, which may well be slightly out, the airport handled approx 12,897 movements compared with 18,613 in 2019 - which is 30.71 percent down. Hopefully the airport's own website will shortly be updated with accurate numbers and I'll post those as soon as possible.

Time for an analysis of figures for March before I start to get fixated on April!! The airport's own data is in post #1,018, however the following is my take on the information using the CAA website and tables 3, 9, 12.1, 12.2, 12.3 & 13

As well as the above reports which, as said, are taken from data on the CAA website, I also collate the percentage of movements for all the major operators. The charts below give the changes in percentage share since August 2021:

Finally I can provide an estimated load factor for specific routes that I have been monitoring. Movements/aircraft type are taken from FR24 and seating configurations from planespotters.net:

As always, many thanks Scottie. By my reckoning, total pax were 21% down on April 2019.
The rolling 12 month figure of 10,963,835 continues to climb as the months with very low figures in 2021 are eliminated.

Passengers - 1,887,592 which are 2,235.49% up on 2021.

Provisional load-factors for April. On the European front I believe there may have been a number of charters to Madrid which have upset my calculations. The CAA has not yet published any data for Kuwait or Muscat.

Provisional movements for May are 15,166 against 2,430 in 2021 and 18,609 in 2019. There were 3 days in May when I was unable to capture full data and when I have had to take alternative information from FR24.

Pre covid we were 3rd in the UK by passenger numbers behind LHR & LGW and just ahead of STN.
