Do you have anymore feelings for next year?

Thomas Cook starting Orlando, Las Vegas and Cuba would be great ;)

Not Thomas Cook but "cough cough DY" i have a good feeling that lots is being done with DY behind the scenes and after LGW, will be there next biggest base. Just saying

Also not wanting to spoil your list and maybe dont do it until the next big announcemnt but maybe we should include those MOD flights as these do bring extra aircraft into BHX and indeed passengers and relatives using the airport facilities and you have made a suggestion that they are indeed going to continue.

Re: MMXV

I have a feeling we're going to see more from Norwegian in 2015, I really hope BHX are working hard to secure more routes and hopefully one day a base. I don't want it to sizzle out after 2015 and them never heard from again.

That's what I've heard. I'll add them :good:

Re: MMXV

Not wanting to jinx anything but from 1st Aug next year BHX could see up to x8 long haul departures in one day - if I've got the days correct Weds should see x3 Dubai, x2 New York, x1 Delhi/Amritsar, x1 Toronto and x1 Cancun. A record for BHX?

Re: MMXV

You could say nine if you include Turkmenistan, which at 6 hours isn't much shorter than Dubai or New York. It must be a record :)

Re: MMXV

Yeah it was Tuesdays.

Morning airbridge stand space is going to be at a premium next summer. As mentioned, on certain days we'll have American, United, an Air Transat A330, a TOM Dreamliner and an EK 773 all arriving between 7 and 7.30ish taking up 8 narrow body stands for around 2 hours. The night stoppers and most of the first wave of charters should be gone but with plenty more arrivals in that time the remotes will definitely come into play more.

Re: MMXV

I'd really like to see Qatar. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that Emirates have been the best thing to ever happen to BHX but if they are to leave the 10mppa marker behind and push towards 11 or even 12 then airlines like QR will be needed.

Do people think Vueling may add something for winter or just stick with BCN? It would be nice to see more routes from them in 2016.

One area where BHX are very weak is the long haul leisure market, Orlando is desperate, in fact we'll have more weekly departures to Beijing than Florida in July and August  Dominican Republic is also missed and I'd like to see Cuba, Las Vegas and Vancouver added along with more capacity to Toronto. Mr Kehoe highlighted this in his recent interview so hopefully some wheels are in motion.

As for rumours I've heard a return of Air Blue mentioned but I don't think that will be anytime soon and they'll most likely start MAN first. Apparently BHX are meeting with Air Asia at the routes conference but I'll be genuinely astounded if anything comes of it.

Who knows what'll happen though, this is BHX and anything could happen, it's why we love it so much

Re: Winter 15/16

Rather than start a new thread.

American Airlines - Will reduce to 5x weekly at the end of October until Dec 18th when it returns to daily.

Emirates - This will be the first winter of 3x daily. Jan 1st sees EK41/42 revert to a higher density 2 class 777-300ER.

Icelandair - Will see 4x flights for the October half term then will be 3x weekly until Jan 1st. Feb 1st sees a permanent 4x weekly schedule.

Easyjet - Belfast up to 3x daily with only Tuesday at 2x daily.

Germania - Will operate a weekly ski flight to Chambery.

Turkish Airlines - Will be 12x weekly throughout the winter.

Vueling - Barcelona continues throughout the winter at 2x weekly Mon and Fri. It returns to 4x weekly, Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun as of April.

Aer Lingus - At 6x weekly Shannon will be down on the 14x weekly service last year. Dublin up to 6x daily.

Flybe - Lots of route cuts at the end of winter 14/15 so this winter will be well down.

Wizzair - New airline starting Budapest, Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Warsaw, Mondays and Fridays in September. Both are 2x weekly using A320 aircraft.

Norwegian Air Shuttle - New routes to Tenerife 2x weekly Mon and Fri and Gran Canaria weekly on Fridays. Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga continue through the winter with Malaga 2x weekly Mon and Fri, Barcelona 2x weekly Thur and Sun and Madrid 2x weekly Wed and Sat.

Monarch Airlines - Increases on GIB, BCN, PMI, ACE, AGP, ALC, FAO, FCO, FNC, FUE, GNB, LCA, LPA, SSH, TFS, VCE, SZG and TRN. Many extra flights added in the Christmas and Feb school holidays.

Ryanair - Increases to Barcelona and Malaga up to 6x weekly. Dublin increased to 6x daily.

Have I missed anything?

Re: MMXV and W15/16.

Hi mate, I don't like to 'speak too soon' when it comes to BHX as good news is often followed by bad news but at the moment it seems as if a good 2015 will be carrying on into the winter :)

Looking at the BHX Wiki page and next to Germania Chambery is listed alongside Ibiza. It looks to be for Inghams in place of the usual Saturday Flybe flight.

Re: MMXV and W15/16.

Seems like there are an awful lot of increases here... do we think we have done enough to counteract Flybes blood-bath of 14/15 to go for good growth this winter?

Re: MMXV and W15/16.

I think Flybe are around 5 or so daily flights down on last winter but that could have been much worse.

Great increases on AMS, EDI and GLA. DUS going up to five daily could be counteracted by a Germawings reduction. At the moment Germanwings are still showing 3x daily but as the CRJ's are transferred out that leaves an A319 for BHX which I couldn't see at such a high frequency.

Milan drops to daily (can anyone remember if it was daily or double daily last winter?) and Hanover will be down on last year when it was 2x daily. Milan is on the 195 though which is also doing the first and last AMS.

Bordeaux looks to be joining the already extensive unserved from BHX destinations list, unless it's going to be summer only. I thought it operated last winter but I may be wrong?

Concerning Flybe it could have been better but could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Overall though I think we'll see growth. Ten flights from Norwegian, an extra daily 773 from Emirates, two extra Turkish flights, American, Icelandair and Vueling were not here last winter. Increases from Monarch, Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Thomson and Easyjet.

There is still Waterford to be confirmed and there was some doubt as to whether Air India will maintain a daily schedule but hopefully Mr K has done his job. We also have yet to hear news about this new Middle East/African operator they were close to doing a deal with.

Glass half full I'd say, for now anyway :good:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
